We spent four nights in a three-bedroom condo with three baths. Our unit had two "queen" beds, and one child's mini single. We were six mature adults and one of us had to sleep in the mini single with our feet hanging out and her husband had to sleep on a youth futon. We advised the accommodations were unsuitable and received a minimal credit to our account, but no offer to place us in a suitable condo. They explained that it was "the owner's responsibility to provide appropriate bed furniture." All contact with staff was pleasant and professional.

Otherwise the stay was enjoyable. The bedroom furniture had to be dusted before use -- the sides of the TV were caked with dust -- but the kitchen had new appliances and a huge laundry room. The garage was an added bonus.

Be mindful: In their words: "There is no guarantee on beds on the part of Mountain Thunder."

We stayed 4 nights, sharing a 2 BR with my sister and her husband. The room (condo) was beautiful. 2 BR / 2 BA full kitchen, spacious family room and dining table. Would be a perfect location for a ski weekend with friends!!!!

We were there in the summer -- July 18 - 22 and therefore kept the windows open for the natural air conditioning. We had the giant room in the main building and it overlooked the lobby -- where folks come and go at all hours of the night and morning. 1 am the partiers are getting home loudly and at 7 am the early risers are leaving and letting everyone know they love them and travel safely... Yeesh!

The bed and the linens were comfortable. No complaints there. The kitchen huge and equipped.

The hotel is close to town - easy walk. Didn't really use any on property services so no info to add there....

My sister, friends and parents stayed in a 3 BR --- room 700 which was very unfairly marketed as a 3 BR as the third bedroom had a youth bed and a futon. Apparently all units are privately owned and furnished and the large condo / townhouse they rented was NOT FIT for 6 adults, although sold as a 3 BR -- which were supposed to have queen or kings for 6 adults. They surely had a much worse of an experience at the mountain thunder lodge.

Other than the noise - we didn't have any complaints at all. Compared to some of the other $$ values out there we did pretty well.

Good curb appeal upon arrival and the front desk staff was very helpful recommending restaurants, etc. Evening desk staff was less than helpful - asked if they could assist in making a reservation, and the young man just looked up the number and gave it to me. Said "you may as well call in case you need the number later." Bed was rock hard and the pillows were no better. Our room was facing east, which translates to a very noisy nights sleep with traffic (no AC since it depends on the cool evening temps). I selected this property based on reviews and it was one of the more expensive ones available - it didn't meet the expectation.

We stayed one night in a deluxe one bedroom condo. Check-in was smooth, with garage parking in the basement. Our room was huge, with full kitchen, big living room, big bedroom and huge bathroom, with lovely deck over-looking mountains and trees. The room was spotless, well decorated, and well cared for. Granite, tile stone and quality carpet everywhere. We paid $215 and it was a great bargain. We hated to leave it was so nice.

The Montain Thunder Lodge is in a great location for the Gondola which leaves you at Peak 8. It is only a 5 minute stroll from hotel.
We had a studio room which worked well for us (two adults and six year old). There was a lovely fire place, balcony and kitchen. Being a studio meant pulling out the bed each night which was no problem at all as it was ready made anyway. The rooms and bathroom were spotless.
Only minor complaint would be that there is no on-site breakfast facility .
There is a hotel shuttle available to take you into town but we preferred the walk. It is less than 10minutes walk to Main Street so the only time we used the hotel shuttle was when we picked up our skis and boots in the town. The ski rental shop called the hotel and the shuttle came to pick us up - no problems.
The staff at reception were very helpful and the house keeping staff were excellent.

We (husband, wife, two 7-year-olds) stayed in a one-bedroom in the main building. Kitchen had everything we needed. Gas fireplace nice touch. Walk right across side street for outdoor heated pool with two hottubs and bathrooms (1 minute walk). Great front desk service. Super free shuttle service anywhere in town (though tips are invited). Great location - ski in, and a five-minute walk to the Gondola to reach the lifts. Very roomy room. Mattress on queen pull-out sofa and king bed in bedroom could be upgraded, but otherwise - top notch, clean and great for families. Front of building one (we had a balcony) was a little noisy - would recommend higher floor or view of back of building for quieter stay.

VERY convenient to town and to the gondola, and nice, upscale lobby and rooms. Scenic view of mountains & forest from our windows. However, I had one of the worse nights sleep of my life the first night: a painfully hard foam mattress and pillows like rocks (and I'm not a picky mattress person). The very helpful and friendly front desk staff was able to change us to another 1-bedroom unit which had "upgraded" mattresses -- and it was dramatically better. It's really crazy for such an upscale place to have any units with such bad mattresses. If they work on the mattresses, pillows and throw in nicer linens, it would be hard to beat this place for a terrific and well-located ski trip. Make sure you have breakfast one day at the Daylight Donut shop near the gondola.
