“Great place, great service, awesome spring break”

Great place, convenient location. We stayed in bldg 3. Very clean, place had everything we wanted. Free shuttle service that went everywhere we wanted to go. Ski in was a little narrow, icey trail but worked. We never tried ski out as it was late in the season. We just took the shuttle to lifts (5 minute ride).

We booked a studio through Interval International. The location of the GTL was awesome. It wasn't exactly ski in/out but it isn't their fault that it was a crappy snow season. The shuttle service was really nice. The room was nice. The "kitchen" was small, but with most timeshares you don't even get that much of a kitchen with a studio. The pool/hot tub area was nice and my husband said the men's shower area was really nice. The only thing I didn't like about this place was the fact that you have to pay for wi-fi, and I would have appreciated a nicer tv than the old box one we had. Regardless, we will definitely come back here again, although if we have a choice we will get a 1 bedroom.

Thank you for taking the time to review Grand Timber Lodge we truly value your feedback. We are thrilled to hear you enjoyed our property, its awesome location and our complimentary shuttle service. We apologize it wasn’t quite ski in ski out while you were visiting and appreciate your understanding on the poor snow conditions which was definitely to blame. As you mentioned the studio does not have a full kitchen and it is our smallest unit. We do have one, two, and three bedroom options that all have a full kitchen, a larger living area, a fireplace and a balcony. We are so pleased to hear you would go with one of our larger units on a future stay and look forward to accommodating you. We would like to extend our apology that your unit had an older TV and that our WIFI service was not complimentary. We do have a plan in place where each building gets updates on a schedule so some of our other units do have flat screen TV’s. Although we wish we could do more all at once we do have a responsibility to be fiscally responsible for our owners and to make updates and replacements as necessary and in phases. In an effort to keep the Home Owners Association dues as low as possible we do collect a small fee for WIFI services in the units. Keep in mind that WIFI is offered at no charge in our Grand Room which is furnished with comfy couches and a large cozy fireplace. Overall it sounds like you had a great time and our property met your expectations. Thank you again for taking the time to review the Grand Timber Lodge.

Studio units have compact refrigerator, barely any cabinet space, a tiny bathroom, no fireplace or balcony. Sign in bath states towels are changed out weekly to conserve water, yet 1 bdr+ all have washers and dryers so they can wash their towels themselves. We requested a change out after 4th night and were practically scolded for doing so. On the plus side, the 1 bdr+ units were really well appointed, hot tubs great, BBQ grills a plus, heated garages a plus if you have a car, view of ski mountains are gorgeous and complimentary shuttle service was excellent. Don't think we'd stay at GT again, but if we did, we'd definitely move up to a larger unit.

Thank you for taking the time to review Grand Timber Lodge we truly value your feedback. We apologize that you were disappointed with the size of the studio apartment and truly appreciate having the opportunity to address the concerns you have shared. The studio is our smallest unit and does not have a full kitchen. We do have one, two, and three bedroom options that all have a full kitchen, a larger living area, a fireplace and a balcony. In an effort to embrace green policies we only offer complimentary towel exchange once per week (or stay). Requests for new towels are never a problem and we are happy to comply. We do pride ourselves on exceptional customer service and are sincerely sorry that this was not your experience when asking for fresh towels. Overall it sounds like you enjoyed your stay and we are thrilled to hear you enjoyed the pools, hot tubs, BBQ, heated parking garage, view and complimentary shuttle service. The amenities at Grand Timber Lodge are truly unmatched! Thank you again for taking the time to review Grand Timber Lodge.

OK..some people have really dished this place but having just been there I cannot really understand it! It is a great location and during our stay we did ski in & out. Mostly took to shuttle since it was so convenient to be dropped off at the gondola. Yes, they had 10 inches of snow three days prior to our arrival...for some weeks this is not a great snow season. If you want to pay double and be on the VERY edge of the slope then go for it! I found the staff very helpful and maintenance came very quickly when there was an issue. Ok, the interiors were not new but still lodgey feel and yes the TV are being replaced with flat screens...we had 2 out of three flat screens But I am there for the skiing!! The only complaint is the people above us must have keep their ski boots on when they walked around the condo since they could be noisy at times. The multiple hot tubs & pools, ski rental on site, and underground parking were all great features. This is not 5 star luxury but very comfortable and great location.

Thank you for taking the time to review Grand Timber Lodge we truly value your feedback. We are so pleased to hear you enjoyed the property, its close proximity to the slopes and our helpful staff but are sincerely sorry to hear of the noisy residents above you. If this situation ever happens on a future visit please don’t hesitate to let the front desk know. We pride ourselves on exceptional customer service and welcome the opportunity to address these types of situations. Also, feel free to make room requests, for instance a unit on the top level to avoid having anyone above you. Over all it sounds like you had a wonderful time which we are so pleased to hear. What a way to spend a ski day! Come back to the hotel to soak in the hot tub (outdoor or indoor), go back to your spacious fully equipped room to relax, then head to town for a huge array of choices for dinner. When we returned to the hotel after dinner, we played some pool in the lodge (which is quite cozy with their huge fireplace and comfy couches). We fully enjoyed our weekend at Grand Timber Lodge and will be staying there many time (winter and summer)!

We booked this with a time share tour group. When I made the reservations I asked that we have early arrival put on the reservation as I was dropping off my family to ski around 10 am I would be wanting to get into the room as early as possible within reason. I went to the reservation desk and did the paper work for check-in. They gave me a garage pass so I would have a place to park and told me they would call my cell when our room was ready. Went into town for a couple of hours and headed to day use room to meet my family for lunch. The day use room is very basic. They are using it for storage for the lounge which shares the space. It suffices but isn't anything nice at all.

My husband and 2 kids (intermediate skiiers) had a terrible time finding the day use room from the slopes. They carted skis etc. all over the property. Some better signage would be nice. Also, sitting in the day use room waiting for them, it would have been nice to have free WiFi, we travel all over and most places these days have this amenity for free, but not GTL.

It was a very cold ski day, so my youngest was done skiing at 2 pm. We had still not been called about our room being ready, so we went to inquire. The guy at the front desk told me it wasn't ready. Really? They knew I had been waiting since before noon (which I didn't expect to have it before noon) but they couldn't ask housekeeping to clean one small studio for a customer that they knew was waiting around. My daughter and I waited in the lounge where there was free wi-fi and a tv and we kept busy for a while. By 3 pm, I went to a different person at the front desk and pushed a bit harder for our room. This time she magically came out and had something for us. They were never going to call our cell and have it ready I had determined. This put us off on the wrong foot, in all of our travels, it has never taken this long to get a room for a early check-in. Having worked in a hotel previously, I know early check-ins can be done much easier than this was.

The parking garage was nice and heated and near the elevator. Very convenient to get stuff from car to the studio. The studio was sufficient, the decor and room are getting a bit dated. The view from 6303S was very nice. The kitchenette is very small and simple. We prepared very basic meals but were able to do it with some creativity. Bathroom is very basic also. This is the equivalent to a Best Western room.

We used the hot tubs, pools etc. all in building 6 which is where we were. Very nice. Your pool towels are in your room rather than at the pool which we thought was strange. They are keeping a very strict eye on those towels which seems ridiculous. We also checked out robes from the spa, which we received a call about the following day reminding us to return them. They seem very concerned with getting towels, robes, having dish washer run etc. but not very concerned about customer service (getting us into our room the first day). They weren't rude, but not overly nice either.

In the lobby they are playing a video about the new property on peak 7. I asked if we could go over there and use the facilities there, "no can do" it's for people who book their tour through a certain group, not the way we booked ours. So they treat their customers differently based on how you book? What?

We spent one evening in the bar for apres ski drinks. It was ok, price good. Sometimes they have bar service out to the hot tub, but not always.

Night 2 was a bit rough. We were tired from a long day of freezing cold skiing and went to bed early. At 10 pm I was awoken by the refrigerator in the kitchenette, which is 12 feet from the pillow where my head is resting. The refrigerator's compressor kicks on makes a racket then in 10 minutes makes some clicking and then shuts off. Repeat every 1 or so, makes for a miserable night sleep. Also, we could hear the voice from the pool, hot tub area from our studio. Someone must have called because it only lasted for about 5 minutes but was very loud.

Basics: Beds were not very comfortable. The sofa bed was pretty bad. Pillows were terrible for me. Bath towels were a good size. Need more places for hanging stuff up in the bathroom and the studio. When you have to keep track of 8 towels the room needs more hooks.

The exterior of the lodge is very nice. The interior of building 6 is just ok, it's getting to the place where it will need some updating. The studio itself also needs some updating. They really need to replace the old refrigerator in the kitchenette as it kept me awake nearly all night. I had a very bad night sleep.

Since it's a condo there is no housekeeping service. We did our own dishes etc. I do think the towel thing is a problem with the pool, using the towel, bringing it back soaking we to the small studio, storing it wet until next time.... they need a better system.

Room Tip: Building 6 had quite a bit going for it, the pools, the spa etc.

Thank you so much for sharing your recent experience staying at Grand Timber Lodge. We use our guest feedback as an opportunity to improve our property in order to ensure that all our guests enjoy a great vacation experience. We apologize that you were disappointed with various aspects of our property and truly appreciate having the opportunity to address the concerns you have shared. In regards to our check-in time and your inability to check in as early as you would have liked please understand that, unlike a hotel, our units are more like individual condominiums and thus take quite a bit longer to get cleaned, stocked and inspected. We pride ourselves in providing clean and orderly accommodations so the time between check-in and check-out is utilized to the fullest. That being said we are glad to hear our front desk staff was able to shift things around to accommodate you but sincerely apologize you were not taken care of promptly after your first request.

Our day use room is indeed a basic room which strictly serves the purpose of a lunch area for owners up for day use or storing of luggage. The Grand Room behind the front desk offers free WIFI and is a much more comfortable place for owners to wait with its comfy couches and cozy fireplace.

The studio is our smallest unit and does not have a full kitchen. We do have one, two, and three bedroom options that all have a full kitchen, a larger living area, a fireplace and a balcony. As for the décor, we do have a plan in place where each building gets updates on a schedule. Although we wish we could do more all at once we do have a responsibility to be fiscally responsible for our owners and to make updates and replacements as necessary. As a timeshare property we do differ from standard hotels in several ways. One of the main differences is that we do not offer daily maid service. Our Housekeeping department does offer a variety of different cleaning services that are available for an additional charge, upon request. We are making great strides to ensure this information is included in all confirmations and also quoted over the phone. Also, our management team will be meeting this spring to discuss rental rates for the year of 2013 and they will be exploring the option of having daily housekeeping services included in the nightly rental rates. At Grand Timber Lodge, we strive to embrace green policies, so therefore only offer complimentary towel exchange once per week (or stay). Our guests are more than welcome to request more towel exchanges and we are happy to comply.
We apologize for the noisy refrigerator that disrupted your sleep. We encourage any guest who is experiencing any type of issue (maintenance, noise, housekeeping etc…) to notify our staff so that we can address the matter as soon as possible. It is our goal to provide an outstanding vacation experience, and we welcome the opportunity to address any issues so that we can ensure that your stay exceeds your expectations. In regards to the pillows, Grand Timber Lodge is pleased to offer our guests several different pillow options for maximum comfort. For future reference these pillow selections can be arranged by contacting our front desk.

Thank you again for taking the time to review Grand Timber Lodge, we truly value your feedback.

Lets get right to it. If you stay in the Grand Timber Lodge (original lodge) and you expect anything except rustic you will be disappointed. Nothing very modern about the lodge. The rooms are out dated with box tv's, terribly decorated bed linens and furniture. We were told the lodge was updated about 8 years ago. Well flat screen tv's and modern furniture and bed linens were out back then. For $300.00 a night you would think it would be alot better. Nothing comes with it. No room service. No cleaning service. Nothing. Unless you want to pay extra for any of those services. Yep extra to even clean the room. If you stay at the LODGE on peak 7 which is new you will have a totally different experience. We went over to take a look and it is very, very modern and up to date. So be careful when you book it and don't get confused about which location you are staying.

Room Tip: If you want a good room stay at THE LODGE on PEAK 7 not Grand Timber main location.
