DO NOT STAY HERE!!! This place is a DUMP!!! They charged us over $100 a night and they are too cheap to give us shampoo!!! Our room had a funny smell to it. Shower stall is small and water leaked all over the floor. Bathroom is VERY tiny. We will not be returning here!

cramped room barely big enough for luggage (1 medium size bag per person). shower stall is small too and will leak all over the floor. No Shampoo given! and they didn't mention this when we booked! No coffee maker too. Heating doesn't work well either its overly hot or not turned on. We got a much better room at the Comfort Inn for the same price and it was at the foot of Beaver Creek and 10min away from Vail.

OK location close to Breckenridge and Keystone. No services within a walking distance. A good bed, and the breakfast beats some of the hotels in the region. Small and tired bathroom with a dirty and stained shower curtain, but hot water worked just fine. The gas heating system is terrible making a lot of noise and the room temperature to fluctuate wildly which disturbs sleep. Beer stays cold on the floor 2 ft from the door (inside the room). This is an old motel offering very modest accommodation.

While showering, lost water pressure, muddy water then flowed through the shower, faucet and toilet. Water then stopped completely. With shampoo still in my hair, and dirty water all over me, I asked for a refund to check into another hotel to finish taking a shower. At that point they told me to finish my shower with the outdated jugs of water under the bathroom sink and they weren't going to refund any bit of my money. As the argument persisted, the hotel staff (owners?) told me:
1. That the water issue was not their fault and they owe me nothing
2. To go down the road and pay $10 for a shower at the rec center
3. That they sell beds to sleep in, not showers

Although I realize the water going out is not their fault, they still have an obligation to fulfill their promise to their customers. If things like this occur, they should at least give a discount to compensate for the inconvenience. These people would not offer to refund even a dollar back! They were rude, defensive, got loud and were very sarcastic. The man even got up and walked away while I was talking to him.

These people do not deserve any business if this is the level of concern they have for their customers. They assume no responsibility and pass along their set backs to their patrons.

Not very crowded, had a peaceful feel. About 2 miles from town and Breck mountain. 3 miles up Tiger rd is a great place to hike and take the dog. Hot tub at the hotel was a definite plus! Seemed to be family owned, husband and wife at the front desk, very nice and helpful.

Tom, the owner, is a great guy and takes care of his people. The rooms are serviceable, nothing you would want to spend a lot of time in but great for a place to stay when you are on a budget. The morning breakfast is fabulous!

The Wayside had very clean rooms, super friendly and helpful owners/management, and a decent continental pre-ski breakfast in front of a real fire (a rarity in Summit County). It is an older, basic motel, not a fancy hotel. Very few frills, for instance they don't give out shampoo, but the linens are very clean, the TVs are big... better than many similarly aged motels I have stayed in. Definitely need a car to get to mountain and town, but overall a good way to do Breck on a budget. Only complaint is that the door was so drafty that it was caked with ice on the inside in the below zero weather. We stopped up the drafts with extra towels! Good thing the towels were lovely and thik!
