“Nice to get out of the city!”
Reviewed June 30, 2014

It was a bit of a drive from Breck to the top, approx. half hour. Beautiful views and we saw a fox on the way. We visited the top and then drove on to Como. The Como Depot Eating House was closed so we continued on to Fairplay and found Millonzi's. So worth it!

“Beautiful views all the way up the mountain!”
Reviewed June 27, 2014

What a wonderful way to spend a June day in Breckenridge! The mountain views were amazing all the way up to the top. The ride is bumpy with lots of dips and rocks. Also beware of bikers along the side of the road. Breathtaking scenery the entire way.

“Amazing views, easy to drive with a "normal" car, great mountain bike workout”
Reviewed June 24, 2014

The remains of the train tracks, water fill tower (for steam powered trains) and the train displayed at the summit makes this a trip with views and a bit of history. Boreas was one of the easiest access roads/mountain passes and this is still true today. You don't need clearance of a 4WD vehicle, we did this this safely in a tiny Toyota rental. There is a cool single-track connection to Blue River with a river crossing for those who are looking for a more challenging ride (would not attempt in a car). Boreas is a public road, so I am pretty sure you need a registered vehicle; I would check on that before going with a dirt bike, ATV or similar non-licensed off road vehicle. If you are looking for an off road challenge, I would recommend the nearby Georgia Pass Road (Tiger Road), a different animal altogether.

“Mountain experience.”
Reviewed June 1, 2014

Road wasn't open yet, but parked and walked for great pics. The road is open in June, so just missed it. There was still a lot of snow up there. Great views of town of Breckenridge from up there.

“Incredible”
Reviewed May 18, 2014

You drive up a winding gravel road until you come to the pass. It's a bumpy ride but well worth it. There's a small visitor center and breathtaking scenery.
