My wife, son and I all rented full ski setups for a few days of skiing in Breck. We have some experience, but are not experts at all, and the people at the rental center were incredibly friendly, helpful and patient. They went out of the way to offer advice, get us the right gear and gave no sense of being frustrated at dealing with newbs. Good gear, fast, efficient and a good price.

Generally, it is a good place to rent from. Rates are reasonable, equipment is good, and staff is friendly. However, my latest experience with them was a little bizzare. I’ve been skiing every year for 40 years, I am a competent skiier and in pretty good physical condition. I list myself as a Skiier II category on the forms and explain that my goals are to have a ski that allows me to be in control. I can ski the black diamonds, but i tend to comfortably cruise on the blues with my family. Given that, it was probably inappropriate for Blue River Sports to issue me very stiff skis. Stiff skis tend to be faster and less forgiving. I noticed the difference immediately, made 3 runs, and was having difficulty staying under controol. This has never happened to me in 40 years. So, I stopped skiing and went back to Blue River Sports and explained that i was having difficulty with the speed and staying under control. I made it clear that i just wanted a ski that was much slower and more forgiving, Well, they issued me another pretty stiff, wide ski. I even told the tech straight up that that ski looked just as wide and stiff as the first skis they issued me. His responses was that all skis are wider now and that this ski would be more forgiving. He may have been right on both counts, but i had the same control/speed issue with these skis. So much so that i was headed down the mountain to return again to Blue River Sports for a second time in one day. Instead, i fell hard and wound up spending the rest of the afternoon at Breckenridge Medical Center with a torn groin muscle and possible mild concussion. I was skiing down a blue at the time and just trying to slowly cruise to the bottom. The skis were much faster than i have ever had before and harder to control. I don’t necessarily blame Blue River Sports as i should have gone straight back down after the first run with the 2nd set of skis, but it is trouble to swap out skis and i wanted to give it a chance to see if i could get use to them.

Excellent service and prices on ski rentals in Breckenridge, CO. Location is great, one block away from the F parking lot and across the street from the Quicksilver lift. Free temporary parking in front and behind the building.

Hubby and I rented demo skis at a super reasonable price for the long MLK weekend. The staff was helpful and friendly and the location is super convenient across the street from the Quicksilver chair. And they store your stuff overnight (minus boots). Highly recommend.

I was in Breckenridge for 1 day and needed to rent everything - I hadn’t planned to ski but the snow and weather was too good to miss.

Missed the morning rush (there at 10am), so service was very attentive. No hard sell. They upgraded my boots because the ones in my level were not fitting right. Ski setup was perfect. Clothes were clean and in good condition - a paid of salopettes I tried first were a bit wrecked but I just asked for another, no problem. It not high fashion but it’s new and it’s clean.

Bought gloves (you can’t rent them), and they failed (Kombi brand) on the day so brought them back returning rentals and they exchanged them no questions.

Overall great service, recommend.

Thank you Matthew! Sorry to hear about the glove purchase, but we always stand by our products and replace them when needed. I'm glad we were able to get you in a comfortable boot - most people don't realize that boot fit is probably the most important part of skiing. That's why we take the time to make sure it's right for each person. We look forward to working with you again on your next trip to Breckenridge! Thanks again.
