Explore the original working of the Country Boy Mine as you feel, hear and smell what it was like to be a Colorado Miner over 100 years ago. Find and keep your riches as you gold pan in Eureka Creek. Examine old photos and other fun exhibits to revisit the past and marvel at days gone by. Pet the roaming donkeys. This is truly an amazing experience and fun for the whole family year round. A very nice place to visit...great tour guide with plenty of interesting mining history to share. My one son loved panning for gold, but only found fools gold. Oh well...everyone was very friendly and the place was great! My only issue was that it cost quite a lot for a one hour tour and some gold panning.

I’m not always confident that a tour will live up to the brochure, but this one was great! Knowledgeable and fun tour guide. Very cool walking into the mine. We only found fools gold, but others around us found some actual gold flakes while panning. The giant ore chute “aka tunnel slide” was fun for the kids too :)

This was a very cool experience! The tour was excellent and the gold panning was fun for the entire family. We got their early and were the first to enter the mine, which added to the experience. Highly recommend!

Our teenage boys even enjoyed the tour and mining for gold. We were told that they find gold everyday! My one son would have stayed all day looking for GOLD!

This place combines a tour deep into a horizontal shaft mine, a lot of old mining equipment in a large display area, panning for gold, and a mule that wanders around the parking lot to greet visitors.

The main reason people visit this is, I am certain, the mine tour. It is definitely educational, but a bit spooky, and the docent we had told stories that punctuated that ("strange sounds from closed side shafts", "weird drafts blowing out lanterns", etc.) But this is not a ghost tour, and we learned a lot about mining and the human costs of it on this tour.
