“A Short Fun Visit”
Reviewed September 2, 2007

My wife and I stayed at the Boulder Courtyard on a short weekend trip to Boulder. We were able to get a very good rate on Marriott.com that included breakfast. Room was very comfortable and staff was friendly and attentive.

We flew into DIA a bit early on Friday, and called the hotel the night before our arrival to see if they could accommodate an early check-in the next day. I was told to call the next morning after landing at the airport, and the morning crew would check availability for me. When I called the hotel the next day, the agent who answered had already been informed of our request by the previous shift and told us that our room would be ready upon arrival. When we arrived, they welcomed us and checked us right into our room, even though it was only 11 am! Exceptional service, especially for a Courtyard!

Although this is an older Courtyard, the property is in very good condition, and the rooms feature all of the new Courtyard appointments. The breakfast buffet seemed a bit understaffed at times during the weekend, but the servers were friendly and helpful nonetheless. We had absolutely no complaints during this stay and had a very pleasant trip.

If you have never stayed here before, you might want to keep in mind that this location is not in Downtown Boulder, but on the east side of town. Not walking distance to anything, but if you have a car, it is still very convenient to Foothills Parkway and US-36. I would definitely recommend this Courtyard for business or personal travel.

This was a very nice Courtyard with great staff. The hotel was clean, our room was ready early and it was a typical courtyard room. However, with the nice service and cleanliness it could not be beat. While it is a drive to DT Boulder, it was a wonderul choice!!

We recently stayed at the Courtyard by Marriot in Boulder, CO. We requested 2 rooms when making our reservation. One room was for my older mother and 2 children. Upon check-in, they had our rooms on two separate floors. When we explained that we needed them closer together, we got a lot of huffing and puffing from the front desk girl. After checkiing in, we could not get the room keys to work. After 20 minutes of working on it, we were told we had to switch rooms, because the battery was out on the door lock. Luckily, we had left my mom in the room otherwise we would not have been able to get any of our stuff. Soon after that the keys to our 2nd room did not work. My husband got frustrated and loud and the front desk girl told him it was not worth having him stay at the hotel. She also looked at my 10 year old daughter and sneered, "Is that your dad?" This was not acceptable. When we spoke with the manager about it the next day he began by putting his hands up in the air as if he didn't care and making excuses for the difficulties and the front desk girl's rude behavior. While the room was nice, I would not stay at this hotel again because of the rude staff. Also, it is way too far from the activities on Pearl Street.

Very nice and very clean hotel. You will need a car if you want to get to downtown boulder, but I did not mind the hotel being in a quiet section of an office park. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. The decor was pleasant. Nice courtyard & lobby, good breakfast. My room had a balcony and a good view of the mountains (309). The bed was mushy :( but not uncomfortable. All in all I had an excellent stay.

Good points: Clean room with nice table for working; very comfortable bed; new furnishings; very nice lobby; good breakfast available; friendly and helpful staff; fast and free internet.
Not so good points: Not close to restaurants and shops, so need a car; fan for AC and heater blows right into the work area.

We got a rate of $63/night and thought it was a great
deal. The hotel is about 2 miles from downtown Boulder
and not within walking distance to anything, so you
will definitely need a car to get around.

The staff was very friendly and offered maps and
dining guides upon check-in. They had coffee and tea
24 hours a day along with a microwave in the lobby.
The lobby is very spacious with a business center that
had a computer so you can check your emails, etc. It
also a sitting area which had a fireplace and a large
screen TV.

The pool/jacuzzi area is nice but the fitness facility
was under renovation so all the exercise machines were
moved to the pool area and it was too humid/hot in the
pool room to exercise.

They charged about $7 for the breakfast buffet.

The only negative thing is as some other people have noted,
you can't set the temperature so you have to leave the
heat or air conditioner running and it is loud. So in
the middle of the night it got too hot with the heat
on constantly. But if we turned it off, it would be
too cold in a couple of hours....

Spent Labor Day weekend at the Courtyard in Boulder, Colorado. We rented a suite. The front desk was friendly and efficient. Although during our late check in another family came up to the desk to complain they'd given them a room that was occupied! They walked in on the people. How awful.

Our room was spacious and well appointed. Nice decor. Our biggest compaint was the two separate airconditioning units would cycle loudly on and off. If you wanted a constant fan noise you'd lose the cooling. We found the cycling on and off would wake us up. Turning on only the fan made the room too hot. Should be a better system available.

Another complaint was housekeeping on one of the three days showed up after we'd been out all day and wanted to relax around 4pm. We just exchanged towels and told them to skip us. They should be able to make up a room earlier considering we'd been gone for at least 6 hours.

The hallways were kept very warm which we didn't care for.

They did serve a nice buffet breakfast for a reasonable charge.

I would have given the hotel an excellent rating if were not for their airconditioning making sleeping disruptive and uncomfortable. The hotel is not bad, but it could be improved.
