Stay here and step 100 years back in time...Including an old-fashioned elevator run by an elevator-operator!

Room Tip: Ask fir a view of the Flatiron Mountains!

The staff and the quality of the food are the two best things at this hotel. The rest of the hotel is very basic and could really do with some work, compared to other hotels of this class around the world. The locations is very good for down town. Cheap parking which was a nice surprise.

I love this hotel like family. Almost everything about the Boulderado is fantastic, but there are a few things to watch for. The Boulderado is a wonderful historic hotel located just one block off the popular pedestrian mall, Pearl Street, one of the key gathering spots in Boulder. The hotel is over 100 years old and has a gorgeous stained glass ceiling in the atrium, original elevator and wonderful old wood balustered staircase which goes up four or five floors. The hotel staff is great! The hotel staff members are helpful, enthusiastic and open doors and greet you as you come and go. The hotel is extremely accommodating and professional.

Here are the weak spots: I've stayed at this hotel twice; once in the historic section and the second in the "newer" part of the hotel. While the newer section lacks some of the old style charm of the older rooms, the newer rooms have bathrooms which are nicer and larger with exhaust fans, heating lamps, and bigger vanities with a larger "workspace" counter. That said, if you're looking for the authentic feel of staying in an historic hotel, definitely ask for a room in the older part of the hotel. Also, be warned, some of the rooms have terrible views. On my first visit, I asked for another room after opening the curtains and seeing that my original room's view for a three-day visit was the back of a building and dumpsters. Once I asked for a room change, the front desk was more than accommodating, offering me a choice of three other rooms. Point here is be sure to ask about the view ahead of time.

My only other issue with the Boulderado is the lack of any on-site fitness center. While the hotel has a working arrangement for a no-charge visit at a nearby fitness center two or three blocks away, my preference in staying at a fairly large (Boulderado has 160 rooms) hotel is to have a 24/7 on-site fitness center (doesn't need to be huge, but at least something). But then again, this is Boulder, where we spent our time skiing, biking and running..... all in the same day! Stay at the Boulderado, but be sure to double check on your room location.

Room Tip: ask for a corner room (historic side) on 4th floor, overlooking 13th and Pine Street.

This was our first visit to Hotel Boulderado and we loved it. Charming old hotel (complete with operator run elevator) which has been refurbished beautifully. The stained glass and old wood in the lobby is outstanding. Our room on the 5th floor was in the "historic" part of the hotel. I was afraid this might mean "small", but the room was huge with king bed and a sitting area with vanity sink and mini-frig. It is decorated in the style of the early 1900's with lampshades with fringes, etc. There was also a desk and free wifi. The staff were accomodating and pleasant. The valet parking was very convenient. We walked to town - great location in Boulder. We will definitely stay at Hotel Boulderado again.

Love this hotel. Short walk to Pearl St. Mall and the hotel itself is quite attractive. Staff very friendly and helpful with queries ranging from transportation to must-see places. Food is pretty decent.

Room Tip: Ask for room in the old wing.
