It was almost embarrassing to eat, portions far too small for the plate, and seemingly tossed onto it as if meant solely to be belly timber. Do not get me wrong, the food was enjoyable, but definitely nothing special. There seems to be a fair miscommunication with the kitchen as well; the meat is never exactly as you would have it cooked. High marks for an attractive waitress though!

We love Alba. The food is always delicious. The restaurant is quiet so you can actually have a nice conversation. And do not miss the Happy hour. Great value, and the outdoor patio feels like you are sipping wine in Italy!

I choose dinner at Alba because it had decent reviews on Yelp and good reviews on Trip Advisor. It was also close to our hotel. It is a beautiful restaurant with lovely ambiance although, even though the restaurant was not at capacity, it was loud. The service was attentive. The problem was the food. I ordered a panzanella salad. The flavor was good, but I had to go on a scavenger hunt to find ANY vegetables. There might have been two cherry tomato halves in the whole salad. It was basically a plate of wet, crunchy croutons. My entree was risotto with lobster. I am told by local friends that even though Boulder is landlocked, great seafood is available. This was not my experience at Alba. The lobster had the consistency of chewing gum. In addition, the rice was chewy...completely undercooked. The seasoning was nonexistent. I should have sent it back. The redeemer of the meal was dessert. It was a trio of flavored creme brûlées. Delicious! Perhaps the chef made the desserts in the afternoon and took the evening off? This lovely little place is not going to make it unless the food becomes more consistent.

Had dinner on a Friday night. Everything was very tasty and cooked well. The dinner salad of mixed greens, seemed on the small side. But the main courses were nice, the fish in parchment was moist and delicious. Bread was excellent and the butter/cheese mixture and the olive oil was very tasty. I would recommend Alba for happy hour and dinner.
