The annual summer Colorado Shakespeare Festival features professional actors in a variety of plays. While most plays are in the outdoor theater, there are now more "non-Shakespeare" or "Shakespeare related" shows also in the indoor theater. For example, this coming summer two Shakespeare plays will be in the park, then there are two non-Shakespeare plays and a related show. Generally, all are high caliber. If you go to previews, as said above, you can get reduced fees, but that is in late June/early July. Good to bring your own stadium seating chair for benches in the park and best to sit as close as possible since in high winds sound can be a problem in the rear. (Indoor seats are all good.) They cancel if there are severe rains, but that doesn't usually happen too often. (Last summer was especially rainy so I did get a show rescheduled. That was fine for me but if you were visiting for a limited amount of time I'm not sure if they would refund your money.) Before performances, you can order picnics and have dinner in the park.
