“a big boutique hotel”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2012

St. Julien is a great place to stay when visiting boulder. It has everything you wish in terms of comfort: good pool, nice spa and reasonably equipped gym.
The hotel is close to the main shopping street with many restaurants and cafe's nearby. There are bikes to hire for an outdoors trip as well.
The food was excellent. No big breakfast buffet but all you wish for on order and served quick.
There's many rooms and we lost our way sometimes- because there's only one main elevator and the hotel has several blocks build around that, so a little walk to find the room in my case, which wasn;t a problem, in return a quiet room.

Room Tip: The mountain facing rooms have the best views.

The St. Julien is so good even the locals stay there. It's festive (especially Friday nights, 7-10pm, out on the deck with live music). Its authentic (everything has a mountain, natural, Colorado theme.) The people are nice, and the breakfasts...well, we'd go to Jill's even if we weren't staying at the hotel. The only knock you can give it is the price. It's expensive, probably the most expensive place in Boulder. However, if you can afford it, it's the best hotel in Boulder.

Room Tip: Stayed in room 225. It's a bit bigger since its on the corner, and it has a balcony with a good...

The Spa is amazing, the accommodations are top notch, everything has a Zen feel to it, staff very professional. They have an outdoor gathering area with a fire pit that is really romantic. Overall a very relaxing experience, can't wait to go back.

Room Tip: Ask for a room w/a balacony, the ones with the big comfy chairs outside w/a view of the mountains.

My husband travels to Boulder for work every few months and if I can go with him, this is always where we stay. The welcome is exceptionally warm - from the valets to the front desk to the women cleaning the rooms. The rooms are classy, with great bathrooms, and I love the four poster beds. The St Julien remembers the details - like special requests, or reservations that include extras and always gets it right. All without being snooty or pushing for more services. It is always a pleasure.

Room Tip: Ask for a mountain view if possible, it's worth it.

We spent the weekend here (Fri-Sun) for a girls getaway. It was fabulous! The hotel is very warm and inviting. The staff at the front desk, concierge, and restaurants were all very friendly as well. The rooms were great--we had three people in our room and it was just the right size. The balcony was wonderful--get a view of the Flatirons, it's worth it. The bathroom was really nice and for three women we had no problems at all. The amenities were really nice as well--you can buy most of them in the Spa. We also each had spa services--what a great experience! Mary was awesome--I had the Mojito scrub/massage! The location was perfect. You are in walking distance to great restaurants, and you're about two minutes from Chautauqua park where you can choose from a dozen different hikes at varying levels, in the Flatirons. We did the Royal Arch loop--BRING WATER and note it's pretty steep and rocky. Not for those who aren't in good shape. We are making this an annual event so we'll be back next year! Overall great experience.

Room Tip: Get a mountain view room.

Imagine hiking in the nearby mountains all day and then returning to the retreat of this delightful hotel and spa! St. Julien is a charming hotel conveniently located on best street in Boulder with quaint shopping, entertaining street performers, restaurants and nearby parks. They offer live music on an outdoor patio Friday evenings (at least in the summer.) We found the patio magical on the night we were there... the sun was setting, stars were starting to twinkle, the band was fun and several people were dancing. We enjoyed pizza and calamari - both prepared perfectly. Check out their drink menu for unique cocktails. My favorite was the "Green" (of course, you're in Boulder!) which was refreshing and tasty, tasting mildly of cucumber and mint. It's a great place to relax!
