My colleagues and I had Dinner there . We are Business travellers and most of us have regularly been in America over the years. I have been fortunate enough to have visited America often

We were welcomed in a genuine fashion by the owner { I think } who explained the options with enthusiasm and humour. If that happens to everyone I'm not sure ,nonetheless I liked this

I need to seperate the food - which we enjoyed - from the service which was chaotic/haphazard.

The food was excellent - and the portions were enormous/generous - something to be aware of and I would suggest double checking before ordering. The racks of ribs were served on large platters and a few of my colleagues felt they were having a " Man v Food" moment if you are familiar with the TV show ! My pork dish was tender and tasty

What let it down was the service for us. Some allowance needs to be made for larger parties - you have probably all experienced the scenario in even the best of places associating the food with what people actually ordered . That said we had starters arriving for some whilst others had their mains, some mains arriving while starters were not completed and some had nothing at all/part orders while others were nearly finished

We also had to ask for water on the table [ most unusual in America ] - and only partially got that - and drinks arrived in a haphazard fashion.

Maybe others will not experience this -I hope so as we did enjoy the food - but this is what happened to us. Our server I do not think should take the blame completely -there is only so much one person can carry - but from our experience they need to do better than this for the price we were charged

I just had the best ribs I've ever had. The service was great and the price was extremely affordable. I ordered the Scott's Rib Basket, which included 1/3 rack of ribs plus two sides for only 11.89. It was plenty enough food for me, but the ribs are very good, so if you're hungry order the 1/2 or whole rack. You won't be disappointed either way.

really dry bbq, really indifferent service, and very very slow. Not affordable, even at happy hour, and it made us all feel pretty icky for the rest if the day. Do not bother. Too many good restaurants in Boulder.

My brother-in-law and his daughter raved about this place right down the street from Boulder's most eclectic avenue. There is a smoker out front to advertise the location, but it is just for show, only burning charcoal and blowing unpleasant non-barbecue scented smoke into the restaurant's wide open windows and doors occasionally. We ordered two large racks of the Illegal Ribs for the four of us, and ordered a few a la carte sides as well. Considering the ribs were over twenty bucks a rack I was a little surprised the sides weren't included, but whatever. The ribs were tender and well-cooked, but I felt the rub had completely burned off, only really enjoying the meat with the light or mild sauce we ordered with them. I didn't try the potato salad or cole slaw, but I seemed to be the only one the table who enjoyed the baked corn, which was cheesy and spicy and I happily finished. My niece ordered a slice of chocolate cinnamon cake, which was very large, but also very dry. The frosting was tasty, but dessert, like many of the details, is only an afterthought here.
