“Good but could be great”

Breakfast was not bad except for the Non-"seasonal" fruit. Very disappointing. Great setting for an old fashioned restaurant.

“Summer breakfast on the porch!”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 9, 2012

One of the most pleasant food experiences in Boulder is eating breakfast on the Chautauqua Dining Hall porch during the week!! The Sunday Brunch is excellent, but a bit pricey so I prefer weekdays. In the center of the Chautauqua Park, the setting is the best! Service was great, and the food is good. I love taking out-of-town guests here for a "Boulder" experience.

“Take a picnic”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 11, 2012 via mobile

I have attended many concerts at Chautaqua and have always opted to take my own picnic. Last night I decided to try the dining hall to celebrate a special occassion. Never again! The food was the worst I have ever had in the area. We had the fish special of marlin and the shrimp & grits. The marlin was so overcooked it was inedible and the shrimp was watery and the grits were tasteless - cream of wheat with defrosted unpeeled salad shrimp. The rolls were "brown and serve" and hard as a rock. The service was slow and unpolished with no management in sight.Enjoy the scenery but dont waste your money or time on such an awful experience.
