“average says it all”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 20, 2012

I can't say that the staff here are very switched on - we planned to order starters and wine and therefore the 2 of us asked for a table for 4. The place was half empty but the hostess replied that "if it weren't for a busy Monday night????? we could have it!!!" So, we had to settle for a crowded 2 top - the ambiance of an outdoor table was ok, there was no wait and the food was decent - nothing great, nothing terrible.

“nice spot”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 17, 2012

Good italian food. Nice place to eat on Pearl St. w/seating outside or inside. Inside feels like you are outdoors based on the decor. Nice waitstaff...good selection of "small plates" or entrees. Kids menu, too.

“another 'decent' Italian joint”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 13, 2012

Had 5 of the appetizers during happy hour. Scallops - excellent, calamari - skip the overcooked squid and just get the veggies, mussels - edible, bruschetta - tomato was red but not soft, salmon tartar - very good, lox mix would be a good description. Their complementary dip for the bread was good, needed some more spice. Wine was good, beer was cold. Good deal during happy hour.

Decor is so fake Italian that it's almost to the funny stage.

“Bad service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2012

We went there with friends, we were 4 adults and 4 kids, it was around 2:30 and the restaurant was pretty empty. I had one of my kids sleeping in the stroller, they wanted the stroller outside! I told them I need space for the stroller because my kid was sleeping, they made us wait ten minutes because they were looking for a place to put us with the stroller. Finally they made us seat in wood benchs, in the middle of the dining room. Very uncomfortable. Then my husband heared the manager of the store saying that he hates families with little kids! Well, it shows! They were very clear with that!

“We liked it - Sidewalk Cafe in Pearl Street Mall.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 18, 2012

We stopped here for lunch on a warm Boulder afternoon. The atmosphere was bustling, but relaxed. We shared a brick oven pizza which was delish!!. Service was a bit slow but the food was worth the wait. Ingreedients were fresh and the crust was thin and crsp without being overcooked. We sat in the outdoor covered patio so we could listen to the surrounding street musicians. The downside to this is the overwhelming aroma of the adjacent organic soap store that occasionally blows your way . There is plentiful indoor seating as well for those wishing to escape the surrounding street activity or the ever-changing Boulder climate.
