“Decent meal in the heart of Boulder”
Reviewed June 4, 2012

Overall, the meal wasn't bad. I had the gazpacho soup, along with a small plate. My husband had the spaghetti with bolognese. There wasn't anything special about either of these. The best part of the restaurant is definitely the location.

“Quality food and service”
Reviewed May 16, 2012

Visited Antica Roma last night for anniversary dinner. Had two small plate items ( crab cakes in a sweet chili sauce and mussels in a garlic-white wine broth) which were excellent. Server also brought a basket of very nice rustic italian bread accompanied by a pureed roasted red pepper sauce in olive oil. Skipped a pasta course and went directly to a meat entree: my wife had a beautifully cooked butter-tender beef filet in a brandy cream sauce and I opted for the filet in a gorganzola cream sauce. Sides of grilled asparagus, garlic mashers, or roasted new potatoes were very good. Desserts were an excellent canoli with sweetened ricotta and triple sec and a grand marnier-flavored creme brulee'. And ended with a truly great espresso. Food quality and preparation were first-class; presentations were classy but not pretentious. Service was excellent - knowledgable, freindly, not obseqious and phony. Prices were pretty decent for the quality of food and service - and about a little more than half as much as a couple of highly touted "famous" Pearl St. mall restaurants. Nice wine lists at OK pricing. The dining area opens to patio seating facing Pearl St mall and can be noisy when the mall is "jumping". Also when U. of Colorado is in session, student patrons and parental visitors can pack the place. The ambience is fairly standard psuedo-italian trattoria decor but, thankfully, there are no kitschy roaming singers or instrumentalists inside the restaurant.

This restaurant is actually very authentic. We were very surprised and pleased with the food, also. The pizza was excellent!

Great spot on lively Pearl Street. The ambience is good, and I have always had a good meal.

“Incredible food, terrible service”

An italian restaurant that runs out of bread, fish, beer, parmesan- you name it. However, the food is 10/10 ... when they have it
