Lucile's has staying power and has been around for a long time for a reason. The reason is the food. The beignets (4 to an order) tell you right away you are back in New Orleans. From the egg dishes, pancakes, waffles, and fresh fruit cups to the biscuits you can't go wrong for a breakfast or brunch.

Food is outstanding. Expect a wait to be seated , even on a weekday, unless arriving when they first open. Seating is very close, tight and noisy. Not a place for an intimate breakfast or lunch experience, but rather a place to be part of the downtown Boulder scene.

What could be more fun than having a great breakfast in an old house with hot spiced tea (full of caffeine!) or chicory coffee. Beignets? YUM! Gets very crowded, so go early. Cajun emphasis. Try their place in Longmont, too. Another old house - same menu - same good food.

Lucile's is a "worth the wait" southern style restaurant in a quaint victorian house. One might be critical of the decor at first, but once the food arrives all eles is forgotten. Eggs Benedict with grits is my favorite dish here, but I've never been even slightly dissapointed with the food or the service. GREAT PLACE!

We have eaten at Lucille's in Longmont, Denver and Fort Collins and have always enjoyed it. We tried Boulder for the first time and were thoroughly disappointed. The service was slow and less than enthusiastic or friendly, the restaurant was not well kept, the cooks and other staff were hanging out in the alley smoking, etc. next to the dumpster and they looked rather unkempt. The food tasted ok, but some of the selections we were used to were missing. No alcoholic beverages, no poor boy sandwiches, no iced tea. We still love Lucille's, but not this location, it is off our list.
