“Great dinner”
Reviewed July 8, 2013

We came on a Sunday evening at 7pm for our anniversary. They had a nice little card on our table for us so that was sweet. We had the calamari appetizer - so delicious! They were nice thick cut pieces cooked up just right, I almost thought we had mistakenly got fries they were that thick. Sauces were amazingly great as well...very impressed with their calamari as I've been disappointed by other places recently.

Husband ordered the special cioppini, which was chock full of seafood and had a nice robust flavor. I got the Kajiki, which is served medium rare like Ahi Tuna and it was excellent as well. The mushroom risotto cake it came with was also very flavorful. The vodka gimlet hubby ordered he said was just right and he was quite pleased.

The only thing we didn't really like was the Chocolate Flourless torte...it tasted and the exact consistency of a brownie, even down to the crumbly crust and texture! So, we took a couple bites but were a bit disappointed since it was nothing like a flourless torte! However, our waiter, Max, who was awesome, immediately offered a replacement and when we indicated that we were full, took it off our bill, no questions asked!

Definitely recommend going, though if you are looking for privacy, the restaurant's seating is quite intimate and you are close to your neighbor....but still great ambiance and a great place to have some delicious seafood!

“Good happy hour”

Try the homemade strawberry infused vodka lemonade with some oysters for happy hour! I would advise a reservation unless you go before 6.

“Too busy on Saturdays”
Reviewed July 6, 2013

We went tonight to Jax and as always the food was great - especially the happy hour oysters and small dishes. However, arriving at 4:45 PM, we found the small restaurant very full (we had a reservation which got us a nice table) and getting oysters took a very long time. The staff seemed to be running all the time so my advice is don't go on Saturdays and perhaps not on weekends. While it did not look any more crowded than on weekday nights when we've been there in the past, it seemed to take much longer to get our dishes. The service was less attentive due in part to what appeared to be too few staff during the time we were there.

best seafood in the Denver metro area. Service is stellar. Bar is fantastic. Call the restaurant directly for reservations if Open Table says that they are full.
