Be forewarned, if you go on the tour on Sat or Sun, there will be no production going on. That means it is far less noisey, but also (in my opinion) less interesting. They do hawk the products a lot but kind of expected that. The guide was knowledgable and chatty. She did try hard to make it fun. This is a fun family activity. But try to go avoid the weekend. :)

I have been taking the Celestial Tea tour for over ten years and though it has evolved, it is always a good time. The story of the company traces it's roots from hippies gathering herbs on the hillsides of Boulder to the present where Celestial is part of a large corporation. The best part of the tour for me is the mint room - a surprising experience! The cafeteria has great food if you're hungry (and it's open) while you are there. And the gift shop has a wide variety of teas and other items including things from other small area companies (ie. Hammonds Candy). This is great for locals and tourists alike!

Very interesting. Great gift shop. We took and learned a good deal. Right down the street from this is the Leaning Tree Museum, which is great too.

My husband and I went on this tour of the Celestial Seasonings Tea Factory. How fun is it that it is located on Sleepy Time Blvd?! We were welcomed at the tour center by a nice young woman who explained the tour and gave us each a small ceramic cup for free tea-tasting before the tour began. There are urns with hot tea and iced tea on the counter to help yourself to. There is also a list of different kinds that you are given a tea bag for by some very nice young workers behind the counter. There are various sweeteners available if you want to use them. There are also some drinks for sale but I don't know why anyone would need to as you can have as much free samples as you want. The tour starts with a short film showing the history of the company and parts of the factory. Everyone is given a hairnet to wear. Men with facial hair wear face nets. Lots of giggles were had by all! At this point they said no one under 5 years old allowed. During the tour we were right on the factory floor. No looking through glass windows here! The scents of the herbs were wonderful! The "Mint Room" was so great for the sinuses! Tour lasted about 30 minutes. Very nice gift shop. We bought Sleep Time T-shirts for $9.99 each. Definitely a do-not-miss activity if you are in the Denver area!
