“Forget the flight instruction here”

We (two pilots) started with the Introductory Lesson Package. While fun, we were BOTH finished in just under 3 hours (supposed to be 2 hours per person, but they had us share the instructor). We scheduled additional training for 2 days later, with two instructors, as we had a time restriction and needed to fly at the same time. We arrived at 8:50 for our 9:00 appointment. One instructor arrived at 9:20..... there was only one instructor, and the schedule had been changed, without contacting us, so that we were supposed to fly consecutively (which we couldn't do because of our time constraints). Not sure what we actually were charged, as my friend wouldn't tell me. The instructor was pretty good, but the business was cluttered and disorganized. I wouldn't recommend them or return to this business for glider instruction.

Mile High Gliding is wonderful!! We have signed up friends & family for tours ages 7 to 89 and they ALL had a marvelous time. Staff is very knowledgeable, courteous, and safety oriented. On one occasion one of our rides got canceled because of high winds. It's easy to forget that wind conditions can vary drastically between what's happening on the ground, and what's blowing in off the mountains. It's not disorganization, it's keeping your safety and the pilot's safety at the highest priority. These guys are experienced professionals.

This was a total blast. Save youself the 11 year stint I did in the Air Force and just spend a couple hundred here. The views were spectacular over the mountains, and out pilot was really good. It honestly might not be for the faint of heart, heading out over the mountains in a glider, but if you have some guts and are looking for something fun to do while in Boulder, this would be it!

The company is very, very disorganized - not knowing who flies and when. The scheduling is done on a scratch pad with a pencil. It was amazing to watch the staff not have a clue what was going on. The glider plane was extremely loud inside since the window wasn't a tight seal. We were told by the staff the planes were quiet once released from the tow plane and it was be like soaring like an eagle. This was not the case! Not only was it loud, the pilot took nauseating nose dives to lower altitudes (we were not on the acrobatic flight). Definitely not an experience to repeat! The seating is very cramped with no leg room for anyone over 5' 5" tall. If I would have know all of this, it would definitely had been worth my time, effort, and money to go some place else - one with a staff I could feel confident in, one who is organized, and with decent planes!
