“If you like adventure hiking”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 7, 2014

Eldorado canyon is shaded, so if you are going in the fall/ winter, be prepared for ice & snow. If you want a challenge cross the bridge at the base and wind your way up the mountain amongst the rock climbers before traversing a boulder field that will begin your descent and loop back on the road. Be prepared for some incline and stair stepping before tackling this hike.

“Beautiful hikes and scenery”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 26, 2013

Although there is a fee to get in I absolutely love the canyon. Won't find canyons like these anywhere else in the area (until glenwood springs).
Wonderful rock climbing, great hikes, dogs are allowed. Some very easy hikes with stellar views as well, great place to bring older family. Watch out- ran into rattlesnakes on two visits!

“recovering from flood damage”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

The trails are in remarkably good shape given what was clearly massive water flow through the canyon. The picnic area was not functional but you can stop along the trails and watch the climbers while you snack. Beautiful rock formations and creek. Great range of difficulty for rock climbers.

“Great, if its open (due to flood damage)”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

Some flood damage,( so check first), good hiking from the parking area, you can see rock climbers almost every day.. bring binoculars if you can.Rattlesnake trail takes you way up, and you will see the remains of an old hotel dating to early 1900's

“Beautiful scenery”

Still a little flood damage, nice views. Hiked up the access road and then farther up on trail toward rock climbing access trails. A few trails were still closed from flood damage
