If you're visiting Boulder you need to come and at least check out this scene during the daytime and at night! This is not like your "typical" mall but instead it's 4 blocks of Pearl Street in downtown Boulder that is open to pedestrians only-no cars are allowed! It still has very unique shops and restaurants and has not been invaded by all the "run-of-the-mill" mall stores! There's a very cool retro candy store that sells every kind of sweet you grew up with and then some! There's an independent cookware store that is a combination Pottery Barn, Sur La Table, Cost Plus & Linens 'n Things all thrown into one store! There is only ONE Starbucks here and there's a guy with a piano outside it on Saturday night that has a 200+ songbook. He's just GREAT! We had so much fun singing along with him and the crowd that he draws! There are panhandlers, college kids (CU is located here in Boulder), tourists and other street "performers" that are part of the scene. You've got to at least come and take it in if you're here!
