Owner description: Situated in the heart of an energetic city is beautiful, historic Downtown Boulder. At the heart of Downtown Boulder is the Pearl Street Mall, a wonderfully charismatic four-block-long pedestrian mall that celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2007. Colorful, bright flowers fill the mall almost the entire year and street performers, with a multitude of talents, make the Pearl Street Mall one of the best people-watching destinations anywhere.

If you're in Boulder, you have to go here. A good mix of locals, old hippies and tourists and a few good restaurants.

The Pearl Street Mall is a fun place to meet friends, shop for unique gifts, have a meal or snack, watch the street entertainers or sit and people watch. We are residents so we like to take our out of town guests there.

It's called a "mall" but it's really a 4-block pedestrian street full of people, shops, restaurants, and life. During the summer there are often festivals and live music; on weekend evenings there are buskers (street performers) who attract good crowds and pass a hat at the end. Everyone is there: tourists, upscale shoppers, young kids, Boulder's stereotypically rich/fit/outdoorsy people, professionals, hippies, and homeless beggars. Parking is a project--try the parking structures--but it's free on weekends. Ignore the activists trying to get you to sign petitions and the beggars, who are only allowed to ask once. Have a meal or a drink at one of the many outdoor tables. No dogs, no bikes (but plenty of bike racks all around). Afterwards, walk over to Boulder Creek Path for a peaceful stroll along the greenway.

There's always something going on in addition to the wonderful shops, coffee shops, restaurants and fantastic people watching! Crafts fairs, ethnic festivals, street musicians, even play spaces for the children -- all definitely worth your while! I live here and take every excuse to visit my favorite spots as often as possible.

Pearl Street Mall is a hugh happening. Shopping, street performers, festivals and a great selection of restaurants. The Mall spills over on the east and west ends with more shopping, restaurants and coffee shop. Very pleasingly landscaped. There are also various features for children including the very popular water sprout area in the summer. Also during the summer there is "Bands on the Bricks" on Wednesday evenings and Noon Tunes on Friday noon. The independent book store (Boulder Book Store) is an additonal treat.
