Owner description: Situated in the heart of an energetic city is beautiful, historic Downtown Boulder. At the heart of Downtown Boulder is the Pearl Street Mall, a wonderfully charismatic four-block-long pedestrian mall that celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2007. Colorful, bright flowers fill the mall almost the entire year and street performers, with a multitude of talents, make the Pearl Street Mall one of the best people-watching destinations anywhere.

It was fun to go in all of the little shops on Pearl Street and the surrounding areas that were different from what we have at home. We also enjoyed a nice dinner at the Cheesecake Factory and watching the street performers. If you enjoy people watching this is also a great spot for that!

I would go here again! You park and amble down AutoZone less blocks with lots of cool small shops, eateries, and street performers. After you eat, you can sit and people watch and then enjoy an ice cream.

When we lived in Boulder this was the place where all the university students would head to so was full of coffee shops, small clothing shops and book shops.
To a certain extent is still similar but since 'big money’ has moved into the State, the clothes are now designer and every other shop is a food outlet – which is not bad in itself but the Street has lost a lot of its charm – so if you shop or eat down here it will cost you more. Add about another £15 to a meal for 4/5 (including 2 children) to eat here compared to other areas in the city. To be fair it is unlikely that there is enough here to keep small children amused – several exceptions are ‘In the Wind’ (a seriously cool toy shop) and the water jets (located just off Pearl & 14th) – this is great, a section of the street where water randomly shoots out of holes in the pavement (not too sure of the operating hours) but you will end up trying to get the ‘little ones’ to leave.
Otherwise you're down to the street entertainers and that is down to pot luck if you can find a good one. They are many street musicians (good and bad) which add to the atmosphere.
One big down is the lack of toilet facitilies - not too much of a problem if you have small children as no-one will refuse to let you use a shop or resturant toilet (without actually being a customer) but could be if you are caught short yourself.
It is worth a visit but it has evolved into a bit of a tourist trap so you want to pay over the odds for Colorado or CU tee-shirts, coffee or a snack - then this is the place for you.

The Historic centre of Boulder Beautifully restored to its original charm & elegance. Tulips in full bloom! Lots of buskers! Food stalls! So many bookstores in a small area! Great kitchen & gourmet stores, art galleries, cafes. Everything is here. Lovely statues too especially that of the girl on the bench.
What a beautiful Mall.

Pearl Street should be seen if you are in Boulder as it seems to be the highlight of Boulder. Lots of street people performing and begging for money. It kinda bugged me a bit with the people begging. I know larger cities have this but it is concentrated on this street. Lots of tourist shops and overpriced restaurants. You can rent bikes for $7 a day and ride around the city which was fun. I wasn't impressed with the city overall. Been there done that...
