Easy drive to a great view of the town and surrounding area. Make sure you check out the views of both sides of the Mountain.

This mountain has well-maintained trails including trails wide enough for wheelchairs. There's also different places to park on the mountain (they ask for $5 for non-Boulder residents) depending on how high you want to start. Paths are well-marked and only about a mile long each. Definitely a good place to go out and get some fresh air and a nice view of Boulder.

We went up to the sunrise amphitheater on flagstaff summit for a wedding and had time to walk around a bit. The view over boulder is really wonderful and if it happens to rain in the morning or on the day before you get a great smell from all the treas. Really a great point to go to and just walk around a bit.

I started at Chautauqua Park and ran to the top of Flagstaff. It was a very nice run (or hike) with great gain in elevation and good trails. Once on top, the views are magnificent!

My wife and I stayed in Boulder for a night and spoke with a friend who mentioned that if we had an extra hour we should drive up Flagstaff Mountain, park at the amphitheater, and walk around for 15-20 minutes. I'm so glad we did, so nice up there! Great views, fresh air, a nice peaceful calm about the area.

We parked at the amphitheater and donated $5. We walked East of the parking lot where you could overlook Boulder, then headed North for maybe 5 minutes and took a couple spectacular shots of the Rockies.

Seriously, even if you're not a hiker its worth the drive up here alone. Bring the kids, just keep an eye on them close to the edges as there are some pretty steep drops. And make sure whatever you do just relax for a minute and take some time for yourself! A great place to reset!

On the way down stop by Panorama Point (overlooking Boulder and the valley surrounding) and then pull off into the park to get some great pictures of the Flat Irons.
