This is a place that many locals forget to frequent, even if they use the nearby hiking trails. Yet it's one of the best places in town to sit outside and have a hearty breakfast with friends or family. They recently renovated. It's nice inside but it's really wonderful to sit on the covered outside deck with a view of the mountains or the surrounding park. There is a playground very closeby so that it would be possible to have small kids leave the table with one adult with a cell phone while waiting for food. The food is good, especially breakfast, but I gave it an excellent rating for the experience of sitting in one of the most lovely seats in Boulder while enjoying a good meal, clean facility, and friendly waitstaff.

Parking might take a little bit of driving around, especially on a weekend. You might anticipate a bit of a walk from nearby neighborhoods or drop off your dining party while you drive around.

If you're up for a steep-ish hike, hike first and plan for a big hearty breakfast or lunch afterwards. It will be crowded on summer weekends.

Eating on the porch of the old lodge during the summer is a must. It is a magical place right at the base of the Flatirons. Beware of the crowds and parking issues during the summer especially on the weekends.

A great place for a day trip while in Boulder! A lot of history here with nice walks with scenery to match. They are known for the delicious weekend buffets! Parking is tight but lots of room for kids play ground!

For starters, It is beautiful there. The park is below the flatirons and a great place to bring your dog. It is an interesting hike around the park where you walk through a large field and then up the craggy rocks and trees and back down again. It is also a very popular place to go in Boulder. They also have great concerts there. I know the Indigo Girls play there a lot along with other semi-famous bands. They also have a restaurant on site that is a beautiful white Victorian building. The restaurant is only open in the summers and the best place to sit is on the wrap around patio. The food is fantastic and a bit pricey but well worth it because of the view and the food. Must GO!
