Many hikes and the trail system hooks up with many of the other trails in west boluder. the parking can be a little difficult on the weekend but the week days it is usually easy to park.

Beautiful hiking area and we saw bears! Well traveled with friendly hikers. Nice trails. Try not to do it on your first day at 5430 feet unless you are used to high altitudes.

We visited on what we understand to be the final weekend of the summer season for the restaurant, last weekend in September. We ate at the restaurant twice, which is quite a compliment given the many other options available in Boulder. You can eat inside, but why do that when you have the opportunity of eating on a classic wrap-around porch. We walked in the adjacent meadow and enjoyed the view. At a micro level we are still amazed that tucked away in the grass you can see hand-sized cactuses. We must have dozed in our college biology class when this possibility was discussed! Since we had just arrived from our home in Columbus OH (altitude 800 ft), our bodies politely refused to take a long hike.

Enjoyed a gorgeous Rocky Mountains afternoon in the beautiful Chautauqua Park at the foothills of the flatirons with family. Couldn't have been any nicer! Enjoy and relax!

So glad we made the 30 minute drive from Denver and did the Royal Arch hike here, the park is beautiful the trail was great and the view at the top was amazing! The park also has no charge for admission and is very friendly dog park. I only wish we had more time to do more than one trail!
