“Hiking, Picnic, Concerts - Favorite place”
Reviewed March 12, 2012

A favorite place in Boulder. Great concert series, love to have a hike in the early afternoon, bring a picnic dinner and attend a concert. Beautiful.

“Beautiful Historic Park”
Reviewed March 5, 2012

Chautauqua Park has a lot to offer, including scenic trails, cabins for rent, a historic music venue and delightful restaurant. The grounds include large grassy areas for picnics, weddings, frisbee games as well as a children's playground shaded by stately, old trees. Parking is tight, especially on weekends, with overflow along the main road (Baseline Rd), it pays to get there early in the day. For some music events shuttle buses may run from town. Note the area is located at the base of the foothills so the trails tend to start out going up, which can be tiring for visitors not used to the elevation (5400 ft). Be sure to check the website for events and restaurant hours as some facilities are only open seasonally.

This is a great place to have so close to town and gives access to all sorts of trails into the front range. Trail running here is very diverse and the options are endless.

“Great hiking without leaving Boulder....”
Reviewed February 28, 2012

Chautauqua is a popular park/hiking area right in Boulder, not far from the university campus. Lots of great hikes, beautiful views. If you're looking for an expansive view, take the Flagstaff Road, off Baseline Road, about 5 miles for some incredible vistas.

“What a fun lunch, great setting”
Reviewed February 20, 2012

We had a great and reasonably priced lunch here and marvelled at the setting near the Flatirons rock formations , the historic park is so interesting, we want to go back soon, maybe rent one of those cute cabins and take in a presentation at the main hall.
