My family stayed at Highlands Lodge April 4-9, 07. We found the unit to be very clean and spacious. There were 2 families of four and the layout was nice for that. We had a great view of the slopes . My only complaint was I wish they had ski valet, but that is minor! The shuttle service to the village was VERY convenient, we really never used our rental car.
We found sring skiing in Beaver Creek to be great for us!. There were no long lines and crowds, the snow was a little slushy at the bottom of the mountain, but it was great on top. Make sure to begin your day watching Channel 8 TV. They gave great information reguarding weather, trails, etc. We ate at alot of the restaurants... Beanos was great... the service & food were outstanding, but I don't think it's worth the price.
Foxfire , which I was not crazy about going to , turned out to be excellent. Tuscannini was good, not outstanding. The Golden Eagle Inn was really good, but the interior needs updating.
They are doing that this summer we heard. One suprise was the Spruce Lodge on the mountain. We found the food there to very good. Most is overpriced , but the $14.95 Prime Rib was excellent!! Compared to other food prices, that's a bargain!
Our kids enjoyed the ice skating rink in the village as well as the shops. Overall, Beaver Creek is a great ski resort for families, and we look forward to going back!
