We ended up here after the major fallout with the Ritz( see the post). Liked the location- but unless Elkhorn is open and you want to go down-"ski out "is more of a walk out- open the door and you are virtually in the plaza-steps from the stairs that take you to Centennial.
Inside, the hotel looks good, modern art-deco and furnishings, but for some reason I kept bumping into things - it's a 1 BR apt. and all available space is used.Storage might be a problem.
The first level is shared with Retail shops/Rental,Real Estate Brokers, The Rocks Grill. The Rocks is serving B/L/D. Food is good- but I would not order it as Room Service. We did not have a choice with the little one sick and every time the food was microwaved. They ruined every single dish by doing that, but I'm sure that if we were to go and eat inside the restaurant , this would not have happened.
The hotel advertises a 20% discount on rentals from Christy Sports for guests.( pls.double check).
Overall the stay was pleasant- location is good, there is a small refrigerator/microwave in the room, they serve Starbucks ....and my purse was NOT stolen ( only at the Ritz) :-)

Stayed here during the valentines weekend with my children. The check in was smooth. The lobby was small but nice interioir design. The room was good sized with nice furniture and bedding. There is another lobby in the first floor, with no one ever sitting there and the fireplace not working. In a peak ski weekend, the place seemed lifeless. The staff seemed quite well behaved, but less experienced. There is a gym and a pool in the hotel, but small for the hotel class.

I would stay here again if it were cheap.

We recently returned from a four night stay at the Beaver Creek Lodge (Jan 30-Feb 3) and were very pleased with both the location and quality of the hotel itself. As other reviews have mentioned, the location is fantastic, as it lies about 50 yards from the escalators that take you up to the main Centennial Lift. Apres' Ski, Restaurants, Shopping and the General Store were all in walking distance in the Village, making staying here very convienient.

Our room was a creekside King, which was nice, though relatively unremarkbale. The fireplace was a nice touch and the furniture and bathroom fixtures and amenities were well above avereage and very clean. The kitchenette was a welcome addition, as we were able to make breakfasts in the room (mini-fridge, microwave and toaster are provided), saving money and hassle in the morning. The bed was, in fact, very comfortable, though slightly too soft for our tastes. Very nice, though.

The hotel setting was also nice. The art work was interesting and the outdoor pool and hot tub were well secluded and easily accessible.

Christies Sports is on site and helpful for last minute gear purchases, though we rented our equipement from www.rentskis.com Gold, located next to the Starbucks by the Centennial Lift. I would highly reccomend them.

The Rocks Restaurant is a good meeting place with above average food. The outdoor patio was unusable due to the build up of snow on the tables and chairs. For Village dining, I would highly reccommend Splendido in the Chateau. Easliy a top-five ever meal for me.

Overall I was very pleased with the hotel, mainly because of it's amenities and location. I would recommend the hotel highly especially for couples travelling without children. Feel free to email with questions.

Comments: Stayed a week in January 2007. Rooms are clean, neat, with new furniture and fixtures. Layout for one bedroom suites is similar to an Embassy Suites - living room windows open onto interior atrium, while bedrooms have nice outside views. Very close to main ski lift - about 200 feet including three escalators. Situated right on main shopping and dining square for the village.

Staff is energetic and friendly, but not well-trained or experienced. They'll do anything for you, but you have to ask - even for housekeeping some days.

I stayed at The Beaver Creek Lodge for 4 nights. We did not have a regular room so I will comment on the furnishings and hotel in general. The hotel is centrally located in Beaver Creek with easy access to the ski slopes. Covered escalators make your trip to the slopes quick and easy. There is a restaurant (food just OK) in the hotel and a ski shop (nice rentals, quick and convenient). The hotel employees we encountered were helpful. The room was clean and for the most part well appointed but we were surprised not to find humidifiers in the room. There were flat panel TV's in the rooms and the decor was modern and appropriate for the price. There are plenty of dining choices and shopping located near the hotel. The hotel is set among a walkable "village/courtyard" type of setting. I would stay here again as I felt the value was good.

We stayed here on a whim after wanting to take a trip to Colorado in the summer. We found the hotel online and it looked interesting. It was better than we could have imagined. The room was fantastic with a creek side view and the wonderful sound of the creek to lull us to sleep every night.
The staff were very attentive to our needs. We wanted to hike and fish and they were extremely helpful down to making sure we had plenty of water for our hike. We had planned to go to Aspen for a few days but ended up coming back to Beaver Creek Lodge.
Overall, it was a wonderful vacation mostly because of the great accomodations. The only downfall was bad service in the restaraunt for dinner- our food server forgot about us but the bartender noticed and helped us out.
We love this place and can't wait to return.

I stayed with my husband in a room with a king bed on the first floor of this hotel during October. Beaver Creek received its first snow fall of the year while we were there and the town was pretty quiet during the off-season. Nevertheless, the surroundings are beautiful, and there was plenty to see just walking around the area close to the hotel.
The room itself was decorated with modern flair and was very cozy. It was completely updated and gorgeous, the only problem was that the room was on the first floor looking out the back of the hotel. I'm sure a room higher up would have an exquisite view.
As the room service was pricey, we drove down in the blizzard to the town to get mexican food which was very tasty. Back to the hotel for a good night's sleep in the big comfy king bed. We only stayed one night, it was close enough to Denver to get there and back within two days comfortably. I wish I could have been here during ski season as it would have been a great room to retire to after a full day of skiing.
