Great condo close to village of Beaver Creek. Plenty of room for 2 adults and 2 13 yr. olds. Not much of a view, but weren't really there much anyway. Would definitely rent Townsend Place again if skiing in Beaver Creek.

We stayed in condo B202, a one bed, and for the three of us it was perfect. Two bathrooms, a spacious living area, dishwasher, giant fridge/ freezer, comfy bed, nice crockery and utensils, loads of cupboards, couldn't ask for more in this price range. I can't speak for any other condos but B202 did not feel tired at all and was a really pleasant experience. We did notice the road noise and this condo was on the road side but it did not really bother us because traffic was pretty light.
The location is literally 5 minutes walk from the main ski lift, but if you don't feel like trekking with your skis then there is a courtesy bus that you can book to take you the 200m up the road. I don't think you can really beat this for location without paying 5 star prices.
Beaver Creek is an expensive resort but their attention to detail is first class, for example, the information guys who greet you as you enter the village and offer to carry your skis! At 3pm, "cookie-people" come round with plates of freshly made cookies, even the lift guys are friendly and make a point of saying "have a good ride".
I recommend, Townsend Place as an affordable, convenient, comfy place to stay if you are visiting Beaver and money is a consideration.

This ski in/ ski out condo was handy to the slopes and to the plaza for dinner and shops. One bedroom was a good size for 2. Liked the extra bathroom and the kitchen was perfect off making breakfast and snacks. View was lacking. Could see mostly other buildings and the creek. Quiet, clean, comfortable. Reasonable price for the area given the location.

Another year of the triple bypass and another year at Beaver Creek. I must say, staying in Beaver Creek takes the sting out of the triple bypass. For the last couple of years, we have ridden the Triple Bypass (120 mile bike ride from Bergen to Avon, 3 passes, 1 wannabe pass and 10K vertical) and stayed in Beaver Creek. My husband rides the Double so we end up getting up at the crack of dawn and not exactly enjoying Beaver Creek. Next year, that is our plan - ride on Saturday and call it good. Sleep in late in that incredible bed with the awesome view of the mountains, wander down to the hot tub after racing over to Sbux to get a coffee...The rooms are relaxing, clean and so very peaceful - I love staying up there and next year...I am going to truly enjoy every moment of it. Folks are so friendly here - we were able to bring our car up early, take a shuttle right to the door of the hotel and amazingly enough, the check in is right across the street from the finish. Truly perfect!

Room Tip: I don't know how you could miss - the setting is simply gorgeous - landscape is perfect, quiet...

We have to admit that Beaver Creek is steps up, but Townsend Place is just tricky to ski out and in. This is important to people that are attracted to a ski in and out, so the clarification is good information. The ski out requires that you take a lateral lift that does not take you to the main mountain. You may connect thr other lifts, of course. The ski in is fine, assuming you do not care pushing a little your skis in an 80 feet trail. Townsend Place is at walking distance from the Village and goes through a nice path which is nice to walk. Unless of course you want to go walking up hill to the Village, in which case the kids, the skis, poles, boots, everything counts. The apartments here are nice, our #103 unit was neatly decorated and served our purpose, though the area of it is smaller to other comparable units in other ski centers in Colorado.

Room Tip: We are at the A building and there is a second building which is closer to the villages and slope. A...

Very comfortable and nicely decorated 2BR 2Bath apartment on two levels, with interior spiral staircase and balcony. Walking distance to the slopes and skating rink, clean, quiet and - in the end - well worth the price for a great skiing vacation in the middle of the season. Lockers on the first level (upon walking in from the covered garage).

Room Tip: Higher floors have better views of the surrounding mountains.

Nothing at Beaver Creek ("BC") is "affordable" in the strict sense of the term. But, if you decide to go to BC and are trying to watch your budget, Townsend Place can be a good solution. Bear in mind the following good and bad news about Townsend Place:

The "Good":

* The location is very good (not great, but very good)
* When snow conditions permit, you can ski to the condo from the base of the mountain and you can ski out of the condo down to a small lift
* Townsend Place is a short walk uphill to the base of the mountain from Townsend Place
* Townsend Place is on the BC shuttle route, so you can have a shuttle pick you up
* Relative to other BC condos, Townsend Place is one of the lower priced condos inside the gates of BC and in such close proximity to the base of the mountain

The "Bad":

* Townsend Place is old
* We have stayed there twice and the best summary I can give is that the units are old, outdated, and often have maintenance issues
* If you are like us and plan to be skiing or sight-seeing most of the time (and, thus, only really use the condo for sleeping and eating), then it may be a good deal
* If, on the other hand, you prefer fancier units with fewer maintenance issues, then Townsend Place may not be for you.

We rented through Beaver Creek Resort Properties and found them to be very responsive to any request we had.

Good luck!
