We had a great breakfast at Carla's. The décor is "hot-rod 50's." Including jukeboxes at each table (remember those?), black and white tiles, etc. The place is spotless and the service is excellent and friendly. The coffee is locally ground, so that is good too. Prices are good, a hearty breakfast for around 7 -8 dollars. It is destined to become a local favorite. Well worth the stop. The rest of Yucca Valley seems to be "fast food" types, so much better to eat local!

Today we stopped off at this little diner, it was like stepping back in the past. What a joy it was, clean and tidy, the staff were so polite, friendly and helpful. Our order was served to us in good time, piping hot and well presented. Although I only had their 57 Chevy Bel-air burger it was the best burger I've had for many years. We discovered that it was under new ownership and had reopened only a month ago. We've already decided to return next time we are up that way, pity it isn't closer to us as we'd visit it more often. This is a great first class little diner.

What a fun place! Karla's Route 62 Old Timer Diner hits the spot for a real taste of good old-fashioned food and service. Stopped by on the way out of town for breakfast after a Joshua Tree hiking trip, and it didn't disappoint. Try any of the filling egg breakfasts with great coffee - a terrific way to start your day! Karla is a lovely lady as well.

We are so thrilled that the Route 62 Diner has reopened. It has been years since we had been in the high desert and we were so excited to find out this cool nostalgic diner was going to reopen after changing owners. They have only JUST opened Thanksgiving week (2013) and are apparently in the midst of a "soft opening" they get their feet firmly planted. It is a nice, bright, clean diner. They are serving breakfast & lunch and everything is fresh, fresh, fresh! The menus are very cleverly put together and the staff has made us feel so welcome each visit we make! Almost forgot to say how much I love that they are supporting another local business by serving Joshua Tree coffee. I had never heard of it until coming to the Rt 62 diner & I like it so much, i may be giving some out as gifts!! They are hoping to have the banquet area remodeled for special events soon, too!

This is a good diner for breakfast. There is new ownership, the food is not quite as good as it used to be, but is alright. The new owner came in bringing food into the store which, seemed to be bought at a grocery stores, which is alright. He did happen to take a tip off the table and put it in his shirt pocket, that was meant for the server which I thought was kind of a terrible thing to do. Again is a alright place to get breakfast in the morning, if C&S Coffee Shop is too busy.
