Booked in advance for $118.99 (a WHOPPING discount from $127.99) and upon arriving saw sign on hotel for $69.95 for 1 person king bed. We had 2 people so didn't expect them to honor that price, but did expect a more reasonable rate. While the room was as clean as can be expected in a hotel, the layout was a bit difficult (had to make sure bathroom door was closed to open door to room), the breakfast was sadly lacking (not even bananas, and the waffles were pre-made - either soggy or hard), and the check in clerk recommended the 24 hour Mexican place next door to eat (at 7:30 in the evening) indicating it was the only place open that time of night (NEVER eat there!!! worst food ever). All in all, the room was NOT worth 118.99 (no fridge or microwave, just a basic room, what the sign advertised).
And this is the response from the hotel upon our email to corporate:
"The sign on the building is for one person only, standard room and not during a high occupancy period or holiday (Mothers Day). Deeply discounted rooms are available on a limited basis and we do honor AARP and AAA. Also Best Western reward points are awarded for your stay and your rate garners you points based on the rate you stay. We believe that the level of service amenities, staff attitude and cleanliness is in line with the rate for our accommodations. Please consider us for your next trip t o the area. Gary Joyce"
Our recommendation: Avoid Best Western and stay at one of the other hotels in the area ... our relatives did and had a much better experience at a much lower price.

I am sorry that you were disappointed. Our food venues are limited and I do apologize for the option that was suggested.

The room was setup nicely and immaculate! The cleaning people did an awesome job WITHOUT leaving that dreaded disinfectant smell. The bedding was perfect and the window treatment allowed darkness by closing the curtains. I had requested a quiet room if possible. It was perfectly quiet and most pleasant to spend time in after hiking in 96° heat. We had a kitchenette with sink, microwave, stovetop, large refrigerator with freezer, dishwasher and supplies plus fast internet. The room and bathroom were large. The desk clerks were extremely cordial and helpful. The breakfast staff did a great job of keeping everything fresh & refreshed when needed. A nice assortment of foods were available. The fresh fruit was much appreciated! We highly recommend this hotel.

We chose this hotel at the last minute when visiting Joshua Tree National Park. The web app wasn't working well, so we called the 800 number and they were very helpful, giving us the web rate. When we checked in a few hours later, we were greeted warmly - the front desk staff had seen our reservation appear just before we arrived. Breakfast was good, rooms are comfortable and clean, and the windows open. If you like to sleep with the window open, ask for a room on the west side, away from the all-night drive-through restaurant. With the windows closed, though, you can't hear any drive-through noise.

Room Tip: If you like to sleep with the window open, ask for a room on the west side, away from the all-night...

We have family in the area and usually stay with them, but a huge family event created a need for a hotel this time around. Glad we found this property. It is one of the newer hotels in the area, and we found it to be pretty clean and comfortable. It's one of the nicest places you'll find to stay in the Morongo/Yucca/Joshua Tree area. All the staff was friendly, and they had some really nice touches such as drinks in the lobby and a nice free breakfast and large, clean dining area. There was a wide variety of food items offered for the free breakfast, which was appreciated. The pool is tiny and not heated. Don't trust the website pictures. Our kids still loved it. It's too small for adults to do more than stand in and stay cool, though.

For me, the biggest turn-off about this property: the big sign up high on its side advertising the single-payer rate for a room, which was about half what we paid as a family for our room on a night that was clearly not a very busy one for the hotel. First, the sign cheapens the brand. Makes me think of some other lower-priced brands. That may be the main competition in the area, but in my opinion this hotel is new and nice enough not to have to do that to compete. Aside from that, it's one thing for a hotel to have a un-advertised standard rate, and to lower that rate when they're trying to attract more business, but it's another thing to advertise a "standard rate" on a permanent sign on the outside wall of a building while welcoming guests who've paid about twice that for a room -- especially when the parking lot is still more than half empty. The price we paid + that low-price advertised on the sign only made us expect WAY more from the hotel for our stay (which was NOT delivered) = disappointment = no win. You want to make customers feel like they're getting a value for the hotel, not make them feel like they should expect twice as much when/because they are paying twice as much. Get rid of the big sign!

Room Tip: I don't think there are any "view" rooms in this hotel. It's located on busy Hwy...

Room quality, service and amenities make Best Western a best choice for travelers to this area. A full-range hot breakfast goes beyond offerings of competitors. Road noise on my side of the motel kept sleep quality from being rated tops. Staff were friendly and helpful, reaching beyond the usual quality of service.

This hotel has improved a lot in the past eight months. We have stayed there since the week it opened about ten times a year and I believe new management has done a great job. If you stay in this hotel go to the 29 Palms Inn for dinner or lunch. Great food.

Worst check in ever waited 30 minutes as 4 people in front encountering problems with untrained receptionist and rooms not ready when they should have been at 3 pm.
At check out I was asked about stay and advised how bad it was, some person in charge came with no apology just excuses, inexperienced staff should not be on their own until they are proficient. Only management are to blame for this dire situation, get a grip and train and have experienced staff on the frontline.

The day of your check in was Easter Sunday and unfortunately the computer system crashed at 3 PM (check in time). Our staff experienced a large number of guests at that time. I know your check in was a priority for the staff and they truly want to get everyone into the room as quickly as possible. If your travels take you to our area again please give us a chance.
