We stayed for one night (visiting for a memorial service). Bob and Lee are great folks, interesting, friendly and accomodating. As a person who grew up in Yuba City, I was very interested in the history of the house and surrounding area, which Lee and Bob were happy to share. House is furnished with antiques, some original to the house, collectibles from their travels, and photos. Breakfast is delicious, ample and early (8:30; earlier if you want it; we're more 10:00 kind of folks). We were in the Tuscany room, which is nicely appointed and comfortable. I slept well and that's not always the case for me in hotels. It is one of the two first floor rooms (one an outdoor cottage). Bathroom is updated and appealing. Pool and patio area are pretty and inviting. If you want to use the pool during weather that cools in the late afternoon, you will probably need to stay two nights, since check-in is at 4 and check-out 11.
I do think this is the best place to stay in Yuba City. (We've tried a couple of the other hotels.) We would definitely go back to Harkey House.More
