“Spacious and clean rooms.”
Reviewed August 17, 2012

I was very impressed with our room and the friendly service. I highly recommend this hotel. The front desk staff were very friendly and accommodating. Our room was exceptionally clean and had a very nice patio and fenced-in grass area for our dog. The room was very reasonably priced. The free WiFi was spotty at times, but wouldn't deter me from staying here in the future.

Room Tip: Ask for a creek side room. They are only $4.00 more.

I stayed at the "Best Western Miner's Inn" in Yreka, CA on 8/8/2012. This was the 2nd time that I stayed there. The first time was over 20 years ago. Back then it was called the "Miner's Pick" but now they dropped the pick. The rooms are newly renovated. The staff was friendly and you are walking distance to some restaurants. You get a 10 percent discount at "Daddy-o's" Diner. The cost of my room was $85.49 plus $8.55 in taxes which totaled $94.04. I was very pleased.

We have stopped in Yreka many times over the years on our road trips. The Miner's Inn doesn't disappoint. There are 2 story buildings with outside corridors, many rooms and plenty of parking. We were there on a Thursday and it was all booked so make reservations in advance if you want to make sure you have a place to stay.
We chose a first floor, king bed, creekside room that had a slider that opened out to a grassy strip where there were chairs and picnic tables. It was really nice to have a cooler place to gather with our friends in the afternoon instead of in our room or standing around in a hot parking lot. They also offer smoking rooms in a different building. Many BW are now smoke free so this is nice for those that like to have the choice.
Our room was smaller and more cramped than our friend's double queen room next door to us but it was comfortable, clean and had the BW ameneties we have come to expect. Add a pool and breakfast bar and what's not to like?
The location is convenient to the freeway and gas station. Walk to serveral restaurant choices and a gas station mini store.
It was perfect for our one night stay and the next time we roll into Yreka we will most likely choose it again.

Room Tip: For shade and relaxing ask for a creekside room.

We did our reviews while on a road trip and stayed one night. I used my HOG (Harley) discount to save 10% and got a very nice room with a King and deck. It has a creek below which somehow is described as a river. We did watch a deer walk through and eat berries while we sat outside.
Our room was very clean; the bathroom large and also nice. Simply put, this Best Western is one of the nicer ones. We didn't use the pool, but it was spotless and open for swimming.
Breakfast was free in the morning and standard fare. I don't see how you can go wrong.

I was hoping for a bit more from this hotel based on the reviews. Its a basic roadside hotel that makes for a good stop along I5, especially if you are traveling with dogs. The rooms are big and clean but smell like cleanser. The grounds have some nice grassy lawn areas and one has slides and swings for kids (and a lot of room for them to run around). Staff is nice, ample parking, breakfast is continental. Rooms are somewhat overpriced (I thought) but are probably the best you will find in the general area.

I was looking for a decent night's stay as grandparents travelling with a 18 year old. This inn was a great solution. The Miner's Inn is suprisingly large for a small town and well maintained. We enjoyed a two bedroom suite, perfect for our needs with small kitchenette, plenty of chairs, and overlooking a small second swimming pool. It offered the usual, pleasant morning continental breakfast. The location is close to I-5 but still quiet and within easy strolling distance to the quaint historical downtown Yreka, complete with spinning barber's pole, tilting barber's chair and men of a 'certain age' who filtered in for a treatment or visit on that Monday morning. The staff said the facility does a lot of conferences with its two interlinking sites. I found our room better in every way than expected: clean, well appointed, and cool on a hot day.
The granddaugther went for an uninterrupted run through town while I enjoyed a morning dip. I looked for a 2 bedroom suite in Ashland, OR (just a short distance north) without luck but was well satisfied with this substitute.

Room Tip: Book directly with Best Western for a 10% discount for AAA or senior rates. I enjoyed our quiet ro...
