Don't think I will ever go to Napa and not go to Cosentino- seriously the best experiences there! My parents and I visited Cosentino for the second time and loved it even more! We did the barrel tasting with Steve (the Cellar Master). The room was beautifully done, full of candles and barrels (empty) to create a really nice ambiance. It was just the three of us for this tasting, but I think that just depends on who else signs up for that tasting. Steve went through about 20 minutes of education and discussion about the barrel making process, and what the barrel adds to the wine making process. My family is pretty nerdy, so we really enjoyed Steve sharing so much knowledge! Had the feeling if a group wanted less of this Steve would have gone with that, but we asked a lot of questions- is a really interesting process, so if you want to learn more about wine and how it is crafted I highly recommend Cosentino! We had four tastings from the barrel- they were ready to be bottled, just in the barrel for a few more months- which Steve used a "thief" to pour! Was pretty cool! The wines at Cosentino are top notch- really the best every time, particularly the Cabs and Chards. Joined the wine club and are so excited for our first shipment!!
