We were so excited to eat here on our honeymoon - we made our reservations as far out as we could to guarentee that we got a spot, and it was completely worth it, by far our favorite meal on our 2 week honeymoon. Everyone told us to get the fried chicken if they had it, and as luck would have it, we went on a fried chicken Monday night. At first we were considering also getting the supplemental entree, but once we saw the portion sizes (HUGE) we decided against that. The atmosphere is great, very unstuffy and casual. I had the Dark n Stormy, which was very tasty. They knew it was our honeymoon and really gave us extra special treatment - the chef sent out an amouse-bouche for us to begin, and they put candles in our dessert! The night we went, the menu was: wedge salad; fried chicken, yams, slaw, chipotle cheddar cornbread; cheese plate with "detroit brick" cheese, almonds and celery jam; and a pecan bar for dessert. Everything, with the exception of the cheese plate, was amazing! I'm not even a big fried chicken fan and both of us agreed it changed our mind on fried chicken. The portions were huge - they offered to wrap up our extra fried chicken, and we hesitantly agreed, thinking when are we going to eat this? Well we had it the next morning (cold) and it was amazing! We were disappointed by the cheese plate, because we both love cheese and were looking forward to it, the "Detroit Brick" was far too peppery and the celery jam was odd, but that's okay because we were already so full from dinner that we couldn't have eaten very much of it. The pecan bars were excellent. Our server was very friendly and nice. We would definitely recommend Ad Hoc to any friends who are out there and can't wait for our next trip!!

“Simply Amazing”
Reviewed November 12, 2012 via mobile

This restaurant probably doesn't need my two cents, but it really is amazingly delicious. We paired the wine with dinner. The waiter told us all about the wine, compared it other wines, told us about where and how it was made--from Spain to Italy--and the differences in winemaking. One of the wines was over 10 years old. Other reviews have discussed the food, which is as good as they say. The family next to us had just been to Per Se in New York (another Thomas Keller restaurant) and enjoyed their meal more at Ad Hoc. My only complaint is that there is no plan to expand into LA.

One menu, no choices... We ate at Ad Hoc with another couple and had one of the best meals of the trip. Service was very good and the food is outstanding!

“Fried Chicken Night - every other Monday”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

Liked how having an Open table reservation really meant something and we were seated fairly quickly! I have never had fried chicken that compares to this... don't come tired - our dinner took 2.5 hours mainly due to the timing and seating of people and the amount of waitstaff. All the staff were fabulous. The food of course was incredible.
This was high end comfort food!

“unusual and delightful!”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

They have a different menu every day depending on what is fresh and available! what fun! great location, wonderful service and (of course) a great wine list! Not your every day dining experience, and that makes it so special!! highly recommended, we were there on a Friday, and it was a busy, but very nice atmosphere!
