We were so excited to eat here on our honeymoon - we made our reservations as far out as we could to guarentee that we got a spot, and it was completely worth it, by far our favorite meal on our 2 week honeymoon. Everyone told us to get the fried chicken if they had it, and as luck would have it, we went on a fried chicken Monday night. At first we were considering also getting the supplemental entree, but once we saw the portion sizes (HUGE) we decided against that. The atmosphere is great, very unstuffy and casual. I had the Dark n Stormy, which was very tasty. They knew it was our honeymoon and really gave us extra special treatment - the chef sent out an amouse-bouche for us to begin, and they put candles in our dessert! The night we went, the menu was: wedge salad; fried chicken, yams, slaw, chipotle cheddar cornbread; cheese plate with "detroit brick" cheese, almonds and celery jam; and a pecan bar for dessert. Everything, with the exception of the cheese plate, was amazing! I'm not even a big fried chicken fan and both of us agreed it changed our mind on fried chicken. The portions were huge - they offered to wrap up our extra fried chicken, and we hesitantly agreed, thinking when are we going to eat this? Well we had it the next morning (cold) and it was amazing! We were disappointed by the cheese plate, because we both love cheese and were looking forward to it, the "Detroit Brick" was far too peppery and the celery jam was odd, but that's okay because we were already so full from dinner that we couldn't have eaten very much of it. The pecan bars were excellent. Our server was very friendly and nice. We would definitely recommend Ad Hoc to any friends who are out there and can't wait for our next trip!!
