Although this Yountville staple has good reviews, the food just doesn't live up to the hype. The menu is enticing, for sure, but it's like they're trying too hard to be next best thing. There are so many tasty-sounding items you'd think they'd all be fabulous, but, alas, fellow gastronome, it is not so. The best things here are the simple dishes. I'd avoid anything complicated or which you have the remotist sense that it it's too complicated We had: the peppercorn ahi -- like eating crunchy peppery granola; the butternut squash ravioli -- usually delicious elsewhere, but here saturated with what seems like an Alfredo sauce. The best things we had were the appetizers: Morrocan beef skewers and beet salad. Simple and hard to screw up. With numerous, competing venues in trendy Yountville, there are better choices. Dinner for two with tip but without wine was $100. They do have NO corkage fee, which is a surprise in the Napa area, so bring your own wine and save.
