From the moment we entered the restaurant we were treated wonderfully. Our waiter, Nick suggested we try the tasting menu, and boy are we glad he did. This tasting menu is not like any other. You choose what from the menu you would like to try so you are able to sample so many dishes This is great being you will want to try everything on the menu.

Each item is flavored beautifully. It is quite orgasmic. When looking at my husband , his facial expression was of a person who is fully enjoying everything to its fullest potential. The manager of the restaurant, Guy, is so personable personable that you feel that you must have known him forever.. The owner came over to our table, what a wonderful man.

We learned that they use everything from their own garden and that the whole building, restaurant and hotel were made from recycled material from the original home on that spot.

THIS IS A PLACE TO COME BACK TO AND TO RECOMMEND TO ONE AND ALL.

Thank you Guy, Nick and everyone we came into contact with there. You made dining at your restaurant a fantastic experience.

We've been to Lucy a few times and I keep waiting for the staff to get complacent. But they don't. The host and every member of the wait staff were exceptional. They were friendly, unpretentious, enthusiastic about their restaurant and most important, good at what they do. The ever-changing menu takes full advantage of the local produce and the chef turns it into pure delight. The wine list is a bit on the pricey side, although that is to be expected in the Napa Valley. It's nice to have a less formal and expensive alternative to the Franch Laundry that doesn't require reservations weeks in advance. We'll absolutely return to this wonderful restaurant.

When eating at Lucy restaurant, I think you have to open your mind to an alternative version of 'fine dining'. This is not the kind of place with formal service, nouvelle cuisine, beautifully presented and elegant looking food (for the mostpart) in a French Laundry style. This restaurant is all about provenance and earthy and wholesome food. It is not presented intricately and daintily, but nevertheless every mouthful tastes as if it has been freshly sourced almost minutes ago. We decided upon the smaller dishes in order to taste more variety, but let me warn you that the so called 'small sized' versions of the dishes are not that small. I ordered two small and one large, and that was quite a lot. My companion had three small which was perfectly sufficient. The food was fresh, delicious and felt good for the soul. It was in no way too rich etc which many dishes in fine dining restaurants can be. Many of the ingredients are grown on the premises which is a nice touch and we tried to stick with them. One thing that I did find a bit odd was that some of the dishes were served piping hot, which is unusual in such a high calibre establishment. It was too hot to eat immediately. The only other slight disappointment was the fig tart dessert which did not live up to expectations at all. Although maybe we were full by then. But still, I found it to be average.
Overall, this place should be tried as it is a very different and unique dining experience that is hard to put your finger on. But if you buy in to what they are trying to achieve here, then it should prove a hugely enjoyable experience for anyone.

Dear Mr. Hancock

Thank you for recent comments regarding your dining experience here at Lucy. We are happy to hear you enjoyed the dishes and the portions; albeit on the larger side! Sorry to hear about the temperatures on the food, our guests generally prefer warmer dishes but this is an area we will certainly review.
Your comments on the fig tart are disappointing for us, our apologies that the dish did not match up to the rest of the meal. We will look at this dish also with my culinary team.
Thank you once again for your warm and honest feedback, we trust you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back from London again in the near future.

Four of us ate here last week and had a truly terrific dinner. A distinguishing feature is that almost all entrees and appetizers are offered in half-portions (and half-prices). That allowed each of us to have three courses--before dessert--and to try lots of different items. Between us, we had 12 different dishes, and all of them were excellent.

After reading several reviews of restaurants in the Napa Valley area, we settled on Lucy's because the menu was creative, seasonal, with entrees in small and large portions so we could try several items, and it was obvious people cared about customer satisfaction and maintaining high standards - every Trip Advisor review was personally responded to by the manager! We were not disappointed!
Housed in an architecturally stunning hotel, the restaurant exudes sophistication in a down to earth manner. There is a well thought out wine list with many choices in every price range, presented by knowledgable staff who can make good recommendations. First courses included MANY items picked fresh from their garden, including an heirloom tomato salad and a freshly dug carrot salad with carrot crisps and curry vinegarrette. The ahi tuna ceviche was such a wonderful dish it should have be offered as an entree. Main dishes included succulent lamb three ways and antelope chops! Creative desserts did not overwhelm the end of the meal and included a brownie with salted caramel and marshmallow ice cream and a rhubarb consumme. Wish they had a mini sampling menu of their desserts because we wanted to try each one!
Service was well timed, not rushed, and the staff are knowledgable about the sourcing and ingredients.
This is DEFINITELY a restaurant to come back to season after season... My only regret is I live on the east coast and can't come back as often as I'd like to.

Dear DeDe Delight

Thank you kindly for your wonderful recent review regarding your recent dining experience here at Lucy. We were very happy to hear you enjoyed a variety of our dishes including our dessert selections and the seasonal items we feature, straight from our garden.

Your feedback on the tuna and dessert sampler are wonderful suggestions and certainly something we will look into.

We take great pride in the service and experience we strive to provide to each and every one of our guests, thank you for recognizing our hardworking and knowledgeable staff, they will all be thrilled to read your comments.

I noticed you are writing from Alexandria, VA. I myself lived for 5 years in Culpeper, VA, moving from the UK and worked for 4 1/2 years at the Inn at Little Washington. We may not be as prestigious as the Inn but we do hope you enjoyed the service and atmosphere we aim to provide to all our guests.
It was our pleasure in taking care of you and we look forward to seeing you again soon at Lucy.
