We stayed at the Vintage Inn for a special occasion and were hoping it'd be much more than it was. Overall it was a nice Inn - very clean, nice big room, bathroom & balcony, but we didn't feel it held up to the price charged. The room we stayed in was noisy, close to the highway. One nice surprise was the great breakfast.

I stayed here for 3 nights and wanted to cancel my flight to stay longer. I loved the room, fireplace, awesome large jacuzzi!! It was perfect. I did not feel it was loud at all, but I wasn't in the room during the day. The breakfast is beyond great, don't miss it!! Also, the mexican restaurant next door was suprisingly good. I will return without a doubt.

If taken as a simple country inn, albeit with a nice reception area and well landscaped gardens, one should be perfectly happy with the Vintage Inn if priced accordingly.

The main problem I have is that the price is completely inconsistent with what it is. I recently stayed in a Villa (103) which was pleasant enough in a rustic way, purchased directly from the hotel's website at a rate hardly justifed by the accomodation offered. I would suggest that if priced at a third less I might be tempted to rate the property Above Average or even Excellent.

I would add that anyone undaunted by my comments should bear in mind that the Villas are along Washington Street which can get quite noisy quite early in the morning.

To end on an upbeat note, I concur with previous comments concerning the excellent breakfast offered as part of the room rate.

My Boyfriend and I stayed at the Vintage Inn this past March. Everything was PERFECT!! The room was beautiful, the double person whirlpool tub was the perfect place for two weary wine tasters to open a bottle and relax. I agree with the other person that posted about the breakfast being able to feed a football team. Not Kidding!!! The food was DELICIOUS!!
I definitely need to compliment the staff as well. VERY! friendly and extremely helpful. They made the stay that much more enjoyable by not treating us like we were just lucky to be staying there like some places seem to in Napa. I highly recomend the Vintage Inn for anyone visting Napa.

We stayed at the Vintage Inn on March 31, 2005, as part of a birthday celebration and thought it very good indeed. Afternoon tea in the lobby was a nice touch to begin with, and instead of the promised cookies we were treated to hot scones with cream, jams, and lemon curd.

The inn’s residential complex incorporates a number of buildings around a long water course, with fountains of varying sizes. Our large room was on the second floor. It had a high, vaulted ceiling, a working fireplace, and a window seat at the end of the room where a French door opened out onto a balcony with table and chairs. The room’s walls were a buttery yellow on a Provençal-type finish; fabrics were typical country French patterns in shades of burgundy, green, and deep yellow. Besides the two queen-sized beds there were a table and two chairs next to the fireplace, an upholstered easy chair next to one bed (with a standing lamp beside it for reading), and a good-sized nightstand whose door contained, among other useful items, a flashlight.

The beds were very comfortable, covered in high-quality linens and a lovely soft duvet. Pillows were unusually good, and there were a number of throw pillows for extra comfort. Beds are turned down at night by helpful staff who also replaced used towels.

Next to the fireplace was a wall nook holding a television set and a small refrigerator. The swing-out door gave the appearance of a country cupboard. Closet space was provided by a pretty armoire which, for once, had enough hangers—and they could be removed. In the armoire was an umbrella, just in case.

The bathroom was glorious. The large, deep whirlpool bath area had a candle, lots of lovely thick towels, and beautiful spa-style robes in butter yellow. The area around the tub was draped, rather like a tent opening, with fabrics in colors like those in the bedroom. The two-sink washstand had enough drawers and cupboards for a week’s stay.

The champagne buffet breakfast was copious enough to feed a football team for a month. Some examples of what was on offer: two kinds of cheese frittatas, French toast, bagels+smoked salmon+chopped onions, ham and other cold cuts, cheeses, miniature pastries, breads for toasting, a good selection of jams and other toppings, oatmeal and quite a number of cold cereals, assorted fruits and juices, even mixed olives…and then, of course, coffee and all sorts of teas.

Our room faced the front of the property; so highway noise was minimal. Noise from a wedding party was not, although things quieted down after we called the desk.

Although we didn’t use the pool, it and the setting were beautiful. Lounge furniture looked comfortable, and there were plenty of umbrellas.

I’d give the Vintage Inn a very high rating. We can’t wait to go back. And it did remind of us a bit of country places we have stayed at in France, especially in Burgundy.
