“Well located to wine tasting rooms and excellent restaurants.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 22, 2012

We have stayed at the Inn many times over the past years. The Yountville location puts you in walking distance to some of the best restaurants the area has to offer. The rooms are large and well appointed. We love to use the fireplace during winter stays. Comfy robes, coffee makers and a welcome bottle of wine are all nice touches. We have always found the staff welcoming and efficient. The rooms are very clean. There's a very nice pool area and well manicured landscaping.

During our midweek stay there was roof replacement being completed. Check in was a bit confusing. Guests should have been notified prior to arrival that construction was in process. We have never found a problem with barking dogs or Hwy traffic noise.

Breakfast is outstanding and included with your stay.

We booked a room via Expedia and stayed Wednesday-Friday. We had an "outside room", whereby it somewhat faced the main road (room 902). We did not have an issue with noise at all. The room was great...spacious, clean, and came with a bottle of wine! We enjoyed the bottle on our back porch when we arrived. The location was perfect. We walked to dinner every evening. The concierge helped us book a wine tour (last minute). She was really responsive and helpful. The breakfast was great. The omlet station was delicious.

Facilities are nice, save the fact that the spa and fitness center are not actually part of the hotel (they are at 'sister' facilities a few blocs away). Location is also fantastic. My biggest gripe is over the service. Completely indifferent, for the most part. Front desk agents always seemed to be engrossed in their computers and distracted. Was hard to get their attention even when standing infront of them. Not attentive at all. Probably browsing facebook. Breakfast is really good though.

I appreciate the feedback from this traveler as customer service is of utmost importance to us. These comments are an invaluable training tool in our on going effort to provide service that exceeds our guest's expectations. I certainly hope we have an opportunity to have this reviewer as a return guest as I am confident that the lack of attentiveness they encountered is not typical and given the chance we would be able to make a more favorable impression. Thank you for your time.

Sincerely,

Pretty property, although located between two noisy roads (one local, one highway). Very nice pool. Lovely, abundant breakfast. Great location from which to explore the area. Well trained and professional staff. But do not go near the place on weekends. Mondays through Thursdays are fine. After that the pool will be filled with unruly kids, and way too many people who bring their dogs. We just stayed at the Inn for three nights. By yesterday, a very large family group arrived for a reunion (how I hate that word/concept), - yes, with dogs and kids. None of which were trained. Breakfast this morning was a fiasco since there was only one overwhelmed cook at the omelet station and a line of whiny kids. A quiet, couples-only place is next on the list for us. Oh, and if you don't like the smell of fake log fires, stay away! Every room has a fireplace and even though the temperature during the past few days hovered in the upper 90s, some couples were hell bent on doing what I suppose they considered romantic, and did the Nixon thing...you know, crank up the A/C and turn on the log fire. And did I mention the yapping dogs?

Room Tip: Inside court, second floor.

Perfect location. If you plan to go to Napa, Yountville is the place to go to. Pretty town, we liked it the most. Hotel itself is centrally located, walking distance to restaurants and a few tasting rooms. Very clean, spacious rooms, great service. Breakfast is awesome. We didnt have any problems with the noise level even though hotel is near a two lane road. Overall - perfect.

I've paid around $500 plus taxes per night. Hotel's location is great but the physical condition and the service are very poor. Hotel needs serious facelift, maintenance and service oriented staff/management. Looks like the owners/management has done major budget cuts in terms of staffing and this is hurting the service.

Room Tip: Ask rooms away from the highway. Hopefully you will not be woken up with loud radio communication be...

I was disappointed to hear of the service this guest encountered during their stay. I want to assure you that this is not typical as we strive to make each guest's stay an exceptional experience. I would also like to mention that we are currently renovating our property and have already completed a selection of rooms. It is my hope that we have the opportunity to have this traveler as our guest once again so that we may re establish their confidence in our level of service. Thank you for your time.

I have stayed at this property many times and several times at the sister property (Villagio). If you are looking for the perfect location at a value, this is it, especially for walking-distance proximity to many great restaurants. The free breakfast is great, with a wide variety of food options, and includes mimosas and a make-your-own bloody mary bar. The service is friendly and prompt.

The only negative is the outdated rooms. The Vintage Inn is in serious need of room renovations. For example, there is an old tube TV put into a square cut-out on the wall, and be aware of the fireplace because it is not properly vented and you will smell like a campfire after you leave.

Bottom line, stay here if price is a factor and if you want to be located in Yountville. If price is not a factor, there are better options nearby.

Room Tip: Stay on the upper level, inner courtyard.
