Owner description: Cornerstone Cellars was born out of a passion for great wines in 1991 when founders Drs. Michael Dragutsky and David Sloas crushed their first five tons of Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon. Today the founders of Cornerstone Cellars and have been joined by a group of Memphis based partners led by Hal Lewis and John Carrier. All share one goal: to make compelling, exciting wines that speak clearly of the vineyard, variety and vintage from which they are born. All of our wines receive minimal, gentle winemaking relying more on nature than technology as the path to making great wine. All come from organic or sustainably farmed vineyards. While our Howell Mountain Cabernet Sauvignon remains the cornerstone of our portfolio.

“Fine Wines, Great Place to Hang, Smart Service”
Reviewed July 17, 2012

My wife and I stopped in for the first timer early June and had a very nice visit. First, I think the tasting room is one of the best in Napa because it really invites you to sit and enjoy the wine. Second, the wines were good, better than good, and consistent: Steppingstone to Cornerstone. We bought several bottles and look forward to a return visit. Finally, we had professional and smart service from Adam Palafox. We appreciated his thoughtful comments on the wines he poured plus his knowledge on the wine scene in Napa and Sonoma. We really enjoyed our time at Cornerstone and highly recommend you give them a try.

“Great People”
Reviewed May 28, 2012

Laura and Allison are the best. They know their wines, take plenty of time, and have all the answers. And they have a nice little winery going here.

“Nice stop in Yountville!”
Reviewed July 6, 2011

My husband and I went to Napa for our first wedding anniversary. We stopped in Yountville for lunch and to do some tastings. We went to Cornerstone, because we had a coupon from our B and B. The atmosphere was nice and bright, and the wines were tasty. I recommend the Rose' for a nice change up from all the Cabs you find in the Valley. It's a nice stop in Yountville.
