One of the most amazing experiences of our lifetime. Our family of 4 did the private excursion with Jay as our pilot. The balloon "ride" was extraordinary. The entire experience was personally rewarding. This family run business has character. Jay is simply fascinating with knowledge and experiences well beyond ballooning. Great conversation. Amazing scenery and of course, the rush of floating over wine country. Treat yourself and do this with this great company. Thanks Jay!!!!

We chose this company over others in the area because they stated that they don't overload the baskets. This was true. Our balloon had only 9 people in it which provides a nice amount of space to move around and take photos from different angles. Other baskets were similarly lightly filled. Departure point is normally from the carpark where you met but due to fog throughout the Napa Valley, we had around a 30 minute van ride to adjoining valley. There the sky was clear and it was balloons away. Still plenty of vineyards below, rolling hills in the distance and the peace and quiet ballooning provides. Talking with the 'pilots', all are very experienced and as a result most of the 4 balloons aloft had a chance to drop the baskets down to lake level and 'touch n go' on the water, a great experience. Ride takes around one hour which is sufficient time and then you return by van to carpark you started at. All very well co-ordinated. Champagne breakfast at local café is extra but was a great way to finish and hear ballooning stories from the pilot. Would highly recommend Napa Valley Aloft, was very well organised.

This was definitely a great experience. I would recommend it to anyone that can afford it as it is quite expensive. We spent a little over $400 for two including the breakfast at Pacific Blues Cafe. Our pilot was great and he has 10's of thousands of flight miles so we all felt safe. It's so beautiful over the valley and it was so memorable hovering a few feet above the vineyards feeling like you could reach out and touch them. It's not just a ride where you get in and go straight up. They take you on an adventure shifting altitudes from just above ground level to 3000' up. Our ride was just a few minutes over an hour but it varies on the weather conditions the pilot said. They can be anywhere from 45 minutes to 2.5 hours. We ended up landing in a small park in a residential area. There were a handful of neighbors that all got up and were amazed that a hot air balloon landed in front of their house. These two little fat Pugs even ran out the front door of a house and wanted to play with all of us. It was pretty cute.

The breakfast was good but a little overpriced for $25 a head. They probably charge that because champagne is included. It was also great having the pilot eat with us and hearing his stories of flights he's taken all around the world and the future plans he has in South America being the first to fly transcontinental from Buenos Aires to Rio all in one day. He says he'll need to be at 30,000' and have oxygen tanks to do this flight in one day. Such a fun experience this was. I highly recommend making reservations far in advance.

This was part of a a special trip for my wife's birthday. An early start that was well worth it. Stepping out of our hotel (villagio) into a crisp Napa morning, we walked across the parking lot to meet the team from aloft. A full briefing before getting underway. With only one other couple on the trip, we had an almost exclusive experience. Jason our pilot, filled us with confidence and throughout the flight, he gave us an amazing commentary on not only the mechanics of flight, but also the mechanics of wine making :-). A genuine local who having been born in Napa was full of local knowledge. The landing was perfectly smooth with not even a bump.

The champagne breakfast after landing was an additional treat and topped off what was a great experience. Would recommend over other operators. We took off at around the same time as 4 other balloons each of which had 10-12 passengers vs our 4 + pilot.
