“Perfect Location, Great Service!”
Reviewed July 22, 2013

Napa was a tough search for us. The region is so expensive overall that it's hard to know if you are really getting what you pay for. NVL had great reviews here, so we got the best rate we could on a King Fireplace room (not really necessary in July!) overlooking the courtyard and pool.

We arrived early and didn't expect our room to be ready (which it wasn't), but the front desk hostess said they would call us when it was if we wanted to go have lunch. When asked for a recommendation, she said "You really can't go wrong anywhere in the neighborhood!" We found this to be a very accurate statement over the weekend!

The hotel's location is great, within walking distance to Bottega, Bouchon, and Bouchon Bakery as well as a number of tasting rooms and other fantastic restaurants. It's very small-town main street feeling, but with a completely upscale slant! Very relaxing!

Being in Yountville was a much better option, in our opinion, than Napa, as it was easier to get to the north valley wineries (Frank Family!!) and not quite as busy as Napa. I might look in St. Helena next trip, but would be hard pressed to pass up NVL again.

Free wine tastings hosted by particular wineries on Thursday and Friday afternoons in the lobby. We didn't avail ourselves of the complimentary breakfast, but free champagne!

Room Tip: Rooms accessible from Washington Street, overlooking the courtyard seem to be more protected from st...

my posse of girlfriends arranged this trip for my 60th birthday. angel was at the desk to greet us all. when we arrived, they offered us all a glass of champagne. they had put two rooms right next to eachother to accomodate us. there was a birthday card and a bottle of wine in each room. i loved that the hotel included free wine tasting, bicycles, wifi, coffee and cookies in the lobby, newspapers and breakfast. we did not make breakfast the next day, as we were at the french laundry late the night before. we had a picnic by the pool that afternoon and staff was very accomodating in bringing us waters, cups and plates, moving umbrellas, etc.
we had gotten a reservation at the french laundry for that evenig, and it was so great it was close to the hotel.
the little deli in the gas station across the street was very cute and gave us reccomendations for lunch the next day at the r&d accross the street, which was really delicious.
they were able to give us a late check out , so we could visit and share stories on our balcony.
i highly reccomend this place!!

Dear Kimberly,

Providing our guests with care and kindness is what we pride ourselves on. An event such as a birthday deserves extra attention, we're happy you appreciated the cards and wine. I'm glad the rest of your stay was as delightful as your accommodations. Your recommendations are appreciated, and we hope you'll think of staying with us again in the future.

Expensive but well worth it. We had a basic King room, which was very roomy with a great bed. We requested and received a vineyard-view room, and it was especially nice to sit on the deck in the mornings and enjoy the view. The grounds are spectacular and well kept, and the rooms are extra clean. The breakfast that was included far exceeded the stuff you get at most chain hotels, and included great coffee, fresh juices, champagne, cheeses, etc. The bathroom and shower were clean, roomy, and beautiful. If you're on a budget, I recommend saving up and staying here at least a couple nights as part of your overall vacation experience. Great location for visiting the wineries (we loved Darioush and Grgich Hills wineries, just a few miles from the Hotel, and lunch at the Culinary Institute was outstanding).

Room Tip: Ask for a vineyard-view. Be sure to check out their complimentary breakfast.

You couldn't get any more convenient than Napa Valley Lodge.
It's within walking distance of restaurants in Yountville, only a 15 minute drive from St. Helena and many wineries and a short drive from downtown Napa. Perfect!

The hotel property is wonderful. Well maintained grounds, great pool area and a wonderful fire pit to sit by in the evenings.

The rooms were spacious and promptly cleaned in the mornings. A very nice sized bathroom also, with complementary bathrobes and slippers. The free wi-fi was an added bonus.
WE also enjoyed the champagne breakfast which was included in the room price. A good selection every morning and excellent service.

Overall a wonderful experience and I would highly recommend the Lodge.

Room Tip: Rooms with balcony overlooking the pool have a good view but have a little noise from the highway, b...

Such a wonderful Hotel. The grounds were manicured and we had a view of the vineyard from our patio which was very relaxing. The front desk staff was very helpful, polite, and pleasant. They made us feel very important and cared for. The room was very clean, well maintained, and had many furnishings to ensure our comfort. We will most definitely make a return visit to the Napa Valley Lodge.

Room Tip: Bottom floor rooms facing East have a patio with a view of the vineyard. Very nice!

Yes, it's pricey. But, everything right in the heart of wine country is going to be, and what you are paying for is convenience, amenities and service. You get all of those here at Napa Valley Lodge and they had they best value we found at the height if the season in July. The room was well-appointed and spacious and included everything I would expect from a high-end resort. Turn-down service, champagne on arrival, coffee maker in-room, awesome extensive champagne breakfast were all great included items. Only complaint was low water pressure and water went cold/hot when I was in shower.

Felt like a boutique hotel..spacious, well-appointed rooms; manicured, lush grounds; Complimentary breakfast was wonderful. The front-desk staff was very helpful, attentive, and proficient. JoAnne was exceptional and spent a lot of time helping with restaurant and winery tour reservations. Only area needing improvement was bar service at the pool.
Overall, a great experience!

Room Tip: The suites are worth the small incremental price increase
