We stayed three nights in a king overlooking the vineyards. The rooms was clean and spacious. The staff is friendly. The location is great because you can walk to most restaurants (French Laundry, Ad Hoc, Bottega etc.) plus a few tasting rooms and a local bar, which is nice. There's a complimentary breakfast but the eggs were powdered and I expect more at this price point. I would not suggest upgrading to the room overlooking the vineyard. If I go back to the area, I'll would try a different property.

Dear RWOEHST,

Thank you for choosing to stay with us and sharing your feedback. Regarding your comment on the eggs at our complimentary breakfast, please know that these are real, natural eggs made with non-fat milk and are not a “powdered” egg product. Like a number of the other hotels in town, we do not have a restaurant on-site, but we work hard to make our breakfast a special part of our guests’ wine country experience. I appreciate your feedback on our breakfast, and will re-visit our scrambled eggs. I also appreciate your positive comments on other elements of your stay, and hope that we might have the opportunity to earn your business again in the future.

Warmest regards,

Tim McGregor

Had the vineyard king room. Very clean and liked the location. The complimentary breakfast was awful. I think the hotel would be better off having a real restaurant with something besides powdered eggs and microwave sausage. Fitness room was the size of a small bathroom with very old equipment, which was surprising given the accommodations and rate.

Dear HJTyler3,

Thank you for your comments and feedback on the breakfast. Please know that these are real, natural eggs made with non-fat milk and are not a “powdered” egg product. Our breakfast offering is very important to us, and so based on your comments I will be revisiting some of our morning offerings. With regards to our fitness room, we will be replacing our Technogym equipment with new Precor machines with built-in personal entertainment systems.

Warmest regards,

Tim McGregor

We have stayed here several times in the past. We love staying in Yountville given its central location and proximity to fine dining. I must say that this last stay was quite disappointing. Our room was a mere 75ft from a major road and building project and the noise on our south facing room (read jackhammers in morning) woke us up every morning and spoiled the otherwise quiet morning ambiance. The most disappointing aspect is that the Lodge failed to let us know when we booked the rooms at the height of the "crush" season (at a premium room rate), that there was (and had been for months) construction activity next to the hotel. Their response when asked about the noise and their failure to disclose was-"its not on our property" .While this is technically true, they still have a ethical and moral obligation to let guests know when they book, especially those they put on the south side, that there is a good likelihood of loud construction noise from 8AM on.

The two front desk clerks we spoke to about it were both unsympathetic and downright disdainful that we even brought it up. The attitude was - "you are fortunate that we rented you a room at this time of year". My take was that we weren't the first ones to bring it up and they were tired of hearing about it, especially after management apparently made the decision not to compensate anyone for their inconveniences.

While the construction will probably be done in 5-6 months, this the last time we will stay at this property. There are too many other quality places to stay in Napa with professional management and caring staff where we can spend our hard earned money.

Dear Tim H,

Thank you for sharing your feedback on your recent stay. I am very sorry that construction noise disturbed your experience with us.
While the development of the new R+D Kitchen restaurant near the Lodge is underway, this exciting project has not caused any material guest complaints. If this was the source guest dissatisfaction, we most certainly would have notified you and all guests about this potential disturbance. I agree with you that we have an obligation to notify guests of this.
Unfortunately, what caused the noise problems for you was jack hammering on the street which was created by the town of Yountville’s work on Madison Street. While this project is now complete, at the time we were completely unaware that this was going to occur and create such a problem. We were as surprised as you.
Of course, this is of little consolation to you at this point since you were in one of those rooms during this specific time. To that end, I am sorry and ask that you please contact me directly at (707-944-2468), as I’d like to make right by you personally.

I look forward to speaking with you soon,

Tim McGregor

Very friendly, helpful staff even in a power outage!
Room was lovely with a fireplace, nicely adorned furniture and fixtures with a wonderful view of the pool and fountain with fire pit. Very clean and convenient location. Friday night wine tasting was a lot of fun, and the afternoon homemade cookies were such a nice treat along with fresh water with cucumber slices. Very nice continental breakfast.
Have already recommended to several people.

Room Tip: Ask for fireplace with courtyard view

We stayed at the Napa Valley Lodge for a girl's trip and the accommodations could not have been nicer. The staff were above average and extremely helpful and the rooms were well appointed and clean. We were able to walk into town without issue, however, there is a public shuttle available for anyone not wishing to walk. The hotel is gorgeous with a nice pool and fire pit and a European style breakfast available in the mornings. There is construction going on across the street at present, but it wasn't really an issue. I would highly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting a great place to stay in Yountville. Cheers!
