“Dumb Luck Find”
Reviewed April 3, 2014

We were on our way to stay in Mendocino. I knew I wanted to stop at a couple of wineries along the way and we had the fixin's for lunch. I think we stopped here because the sign intrigued us as we rounded the bend.

Talk about laid back, we were greeted by the tasting room manager (and jack-of-all-trades), Houston and joined shortly thereafter by the owner/winemaker, Tom Rodrigues. They were quite the combo talking about their wines being served that day and what was to come (a port and aged zinfandel combo for example).

We knew we were fortunate to have both Houston and Tom there. After he had left Houston admitted the owner rarely identifies himself as he goes about the business of managing the winery.

We walked out with a Chardonnay and a red blend to have with lunch. We sat at picnic tables next to the old truck and celebrated our good fortune in finding this place.

“Our new favorite winery”
Reviewed April 16, 2013

Tom was great, charming, and a brilliant wine maker. We joined the wine club and can not wait for our first shipment. Buster and Posey were very sweet and the overall experience made a great day. It was well worth the trek up the mountain.

“A Gem of a Winery”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

We decided to make the drive to Maple Creek WInery as my wife had met some of their people at this Spring's SF Vintners Market. Driving Hwy 128 from Cloverdale was an eye on the road experience, although my wife saw some beautiful sites. After we turned off the road and began driving up the side of the hill to their tasting room and winery, I realized the challenge was not over. It's a good thing there are a few signs letting you know you were on the right path (literally). The tasting room has a rustic look to it and Maple Creek is quite proud of the vibe. The owner is an artist and some of his works decorate the tasting room, but not an overwhelming amount. We had a good time in the tasting room. Saffron was a great server. (She was one that my wife had met.) Saffron had invited us to drop in any time we were in the area. She gave us a tour of winery. The tasting room is simply the front of the winery. Maple Creek makes some nice wines. Bought 2 bottles, one of their red blend and one Mendocino cabernet.

“enjoyable, energetic visit”
Reviewed June 15, 2011

we stopped on a recommendation and were quite pleased. The server seemed to enjoy her job and made you immediately comfortable. Laid back, enjoyable and we spent a couple hours when we were planning a 20 minute stop.
