Wonderful family run hospidaje right on the lake, the owner was very nice, rooms were clean and there were numerous chairs and hammocks scattered throughout the complex. It was windy fairly consistently when we were there......only serves breakfast which is really not a problem as there are other restaurants and a comidor fairly close. It is out of the way so to get to Altagracia or Moyagalpa you need to take a taxi or the local bus. We would definitely choose to stay here again?

Room Tip: I would choose one of the Cabinas close to the water......the only downside is they are right across from the restaurant area which is where most people hang out so it can get a little noisy in the evening, however most people were in bed by 10pm....this is not a party hostel.

We were taken with the nice view.
We first got the nearest priv room next to the beach and had all the hammocs next to us so we happily chilled out there till late in the nite. Thats why we didnt notice the dripping faucet water in our room that it wetted alot of our clothes.
So we had to dry our clothes next day.
They did move us to a bigger room and ive had the best sleep there.
(+)
You can just walk into the lake and spend your day there
Good mattreses
Plenty of hammocks and swings
Theres a clothes line in your room and plenty of hooks.
They clean your room daily, sometimes you need to ask though
the area near the road have fireflies.

(-) the leaky pipe
Only one normal priced restaurant nearby
You cant cook.

When we were there we loved the teperature of the shower because it was hot and humid. So I guess it depends on the season, if you'd appreciate it.
Annoying sand everywhere but thats coz your next to the beach, so we take off our footwear before entering the room.
There are cheaper places around though so it depends if you really like being in the water and have watch of your valuables coz then this place is for you.

We arrived late in the evening and ended up staying in Buena Vista. Yes, I'd say the view was very nice, unfortunately that's all it had to offer. We stayed in room #17 which appeared to be out of reach for the internet connection. The connection, only working from the lobby required lots of patience.

Our room was dirty. Sand all over the floor and sheets smelled like cigaret smoke - on both beds! Traveling Nicaragua cold water is usually not an issue, but we both found water at Buena Vista freezing.

Next night we spent at Hacienda Merida and loved it (I have also rated that). It's not on the beach, but it's still on water, which you can acess from a wooden bridge.
