Thank you for reviewing our hotel. We are glad to hear your pleasant staff at Hampton Inn & Suites in Woodland, we would like to welcome you back.
Very nice hotel and it was located less than 10 minutes from the sports complex where my son's team was playing the Norcal State Cup Tournament! Clean and great service, with a very good breakfast. Very close to many restaurants for lunch or dinner. Only minor hangup - not being able to watch the San Jose Sharks game in our room Saturday night.
Very nice motel with excellent staff. Enjoyed our stay. Wished we could have stayed longer but had to get back on the road the next day. Room was located close to the highway but was very quiet. Room was clean, modern, and comfortable. Highly recommend the Woodland Hampton Inn.
Hampton Inns are one of my favorite places to stay when on the road. This property had the usual clean and well-appointed room, a good wireless signal, a great free breakfast and a generally quiet environment.
Where this property fell down in my estimation involved staff, usually a high point of my stay at other Hamptons. Upon check-in the attendant seemed pretty disinterested and I had to ask if they had my Gold membership on file and whether there were any amenities. When there was a problem with the phone messaging system malfunctioning the desk clerk the next morning said they'd take care of it. That did not happen and no follow-up occurred to let me know it would continue to malfunction.
Unfortunately for me, the desk clerk working when I checked out was TOO efficient. I gave him my key and, though he saw me going to breakfast, he turned off my wireless access so fast I couldn't use it at breakfast.
Some other reviewers have had good luck with staff at this location. My less-than-stellar experience was mid-week, if that helps.
I apologize for the unconvenience in your stay. When our guest checks out of our system our internet access cuts off automatically. Thank you for your review it will help us serve our guest better. Once again I apologize for your stay.
This Hampton is in a great location if you have business near Davis, CA. The staff is very helpful and polite, and staff members went the "extra mile" to make our stay more comfortable. The big lobby working area was a plus.
It's a Hampton Inn at the side of a highway - just like every other Hampton at the side of a highway. The rooms are quiet with little road noise. They are also good sized - no complaints. There is a gas station within walking distance - not much else. A short drive to a mall with restaurants and shopping.
They have parking close to the front labeled for Diamond guests - but anyone can park there. They don't ask - and don't enforce. I've never seen premium parking before at a Hampton so it's really no different. However, if you say you are going to offer something then it's disappointing when you don't.
I checked-in around 5 on a Sunday. Nobody was at the desk or in the lobby. I wondered if there had been a robbery or abduction. I found the kid sitting in the lobby out of sight watching television. He seemed unhappy to be disturbed. Later when we were headed out for dinner I was going to ask for a recommendation - but again the desk and lobby were empty. The next morning when I went to check-out the desk and lobby were again empty. I had to hunt down someone to check-out. That's just weird.
Overall - it's a quiet Hampton Inn at the side of the highway. It's not a destination - but if you are traveling through and need a place to sleep it's fine. Just don't expect much in the way of service.
