We enjoyed a very tasty supper last night at Kitchen 428, and were happily surprised they had many patrons on a sleepy Tuesday night in Woodland. Another great surprise was that the prawns on my rosemary fettuccine were indeed fresh and excellently prepared; along with the nicely sauteed veggies it was a great dish that could have been over-sauced but was just right. My husband had the rosemary chicken, and his also was delicious. His choice for salad was simple greens, while I chose the beets with mango and chevre. My only complaint is that the portion size was quite large - really nothing to complain about! The presentation on all our dishes was great. Before dinner, we enjoyed a drink at their bar, Mojo's, which is directly adjacent. Both venues retain the red brick walls that make the rooms cozy. My only discouraging remark, and this is probably trivial, is that the space in the restaurant is very boxy and open, and for me it detracted from the experience. We had great service and the wait staff was friendly and attentive, something we truly appreciate. We were never ignored or had to wait. We are very happy to have a wonderful restaurant in Woodland.
