“Great Surprise in Winters”
Reviewed November 9, 2013

We booked a night in the Abbey House Inn at the last minute in October 2013 and it was a very enjoyable stay. Winters was a great surprise. We were there to see Kim Richey perform at the Palms Playhouse. I love music and so we came specifically for that. There was a lovely main street with wonderful restaurants within walking distance from the Abbey House Inn. We enjoyed the music and the pizza we had and a good nights sleep. The only disappointment is that the Abbey Inn does not seem to have a Tv. Normally that would not be a big problem, but we arrived around 5:30pm and the MLB World Series was on and we could not find a tv to tune into the Red Sox - Cardinals game. There was a radio however and so we would at least listen to the game. The next morning we had an excellent breakfast. It was so big we could not eat until late that afternoon. I will not forget that breakfast for some time. The eggs bacon and homemade bread were excellent. Later that day we went hiking close by and to a winery and had a delightful experience. If you're in the area and love small towns, this one is worth checking out and the Abbey House Inn is a great choice. Its easy to skip on down to Napa and very reasonably priced. Thanks again to our host for a great experience.

A great bed and Breakfast, without the breakfast. They supplied fruit and a kitchen for breakfast, but you had to go elsewhere for a (man's) breakfast... and there are several good places to eat within walking distance in Winters. Rooms were clean and very comfortable. Staff was very accomodating and it was was quiet and peacefiul. Highly recommended if what you really want is a place to rest, relax and have a quiet night.

Room Tip: Just remember you will haver to walk 5 minutes to get a real breakfast. One room is equipped for ha...

This is a very nice inn! Themed rooms, friendly host, (Cindy), fresh fruit in the kitchen. They have a policy of not distrubing rooms of those stying more than one night so, if you need them, do ask for fresh towels. Very clean and well kept. Walking distance to everything downtown. Wonderful.

As a frequent international traveler always on the go I generally opt for a known place, even if it means driving. I can't understand what possessed me to try something different and save myself 30 mile drive every day but I am so glad I did. The Abby House inn is completely relaxing and very comfortable in both my room and the common areas. Great useable kitchen. The in-room whirlpool tubs are a big plus too. Next I have to go to Sacramento it would be worth the drive to stay out here in Winters and enjoy the local restaurants.

Room Tip: the rooms are about the same size. Cindy would be glad to show you all the rooms so you could choos...

We just enjoyed a brief but enjoyable getaway to Winters & Davis and stayed for the first time at The Abbey House Inn. We were completely happy with our choice. The inn is beautifully decorated, sparkling clean and well-maintained. Innkeeper Cindy is friendly and does everything she can to enhance her guests' experience. Breakfast is not served at the inn--which we consider a "plus"--but there are convenient venues in town only a short walk away, and Cindy has arranged for her guests to receive discounts or "perks" at several of them. She also provides coffee & teas in the well-appointed kitchen of the inn. We look forward to our next visit to this charming inn and the town of Winters.

Abbey House Inn is a block from the center of Winters and an enjoyable walk to wine tasting, restaurants, The Palms, and amazingly quiet at this time of year. It is a charming Inn and Cindy Luchinske, Innkeeper, welcomes you and makes you feel at home. On Saturday after moving into the downstairs Ophelia Room, we walked to the town center and wine tasted (3 places) until it was time for dinner Putah Creek Cafe. After a concert at The Palms nearby, we walked back to the quiet Inn. We met 2 other couples staying at the Inn, but we felt like it was all our own. There is coffee/tea offered, no brunch. The bed in our room seemed more like a double than queen size, but it was very comfortable and we slept fairly well. We could walk to the Putah Creek Cafe for breakfast, and there are a couple other places that serve coffee and treats nearby. Want to know more, check out their web site for a description of the rooms www.abbeyhouseinn.com. And check out the Specials!

Room Tip: Talk to Cindy about your tastes and desires when you call to reserve a room.

This was our family's first experience with a vacation 'rental' and we couldn't have been more pleased. The home was beautiful, the furnishings luxurious, the location pleasant and the manager- amazing! We traveled to Winters from out of state to attend a wedding in Sacramento. Winters had the exact small town feel we were looking for. We rode our bikes to a local park were there was live music, spent some time at the local pool and visited the library. Can't remember the names of the two places in town we ate out but the service was excellent and the food was delicious. The Abbey House Inn was spectacular. The grounds are small but pack a lot of punch for a flower lover like me. There was a wrap around porch and the accommodations inside were very clean and comfortable. Cindy answered every question we could possibly think of and helped us navigate this 'new' world of vacation rentals with ease. We loved the whirlpool tub and the elegant charm of our room. And, Winters was close enough for us to drive into Sacramento with ease. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.
