Lovely place. Good service. Great accommodations. However. No excuse for main pool to be closed for repairs 4 out of seven days. Very unacceptable. Wyndham can do better than that. There were some very unhappy people

This was our first stay in the Napa Valley area. All other visits had been only day visits. This time we stayed a week at the Worldmark Resort by Wyndham. The resort is lovely and conveniently located. Upon arriving, we were greeted warmly by the front desk staff and checked in. But then we were directed over to the Hospitality Desk for our parking permit and area coupons. Oh, no! This sounded too familiar to other timeshare experiences but this resort said by Wyndham and they already knew we belonged to another Travel Club. We walk over to the desk and were met by their RCI agent-Linda. Here we go-the spill and it was dinner time, we were hungry and tired from our flight into SFO and drive to Windsor. We explained that we were not interested in any appointments or any tours or any freebies involved with those or breakfast seminars. She really would not take no for an answer so we said our week was full except maybe Thursday. Finally got our parking permit and a few coupons for area discounts. We left to check into our lovely, spacious 2 bedroom, 2 bath condo # 9302. Perfect in every way-ahhh! The resort is very nicely layed out, a little tight on parking spaces but the amenities are nice and the grounds are pretty. We enjoyed our stay very much. The condo was nicely furnished, quiet, and we would definitely stay there again if we did not have to go through the "ordeal of RCI" to get our parking permit and listen to their spill. So unnecessary! On Wednesday night we had a message in our door to remind us of our Breakfast Conference Thursday morning. A quick call to the front desk and a transfer to Hospitality Desk got that cancelled after their many efforts to try to squeeze one in before we left on Saturday morning. Ugh! We would recommend a stay there without this if possible. It is a lovely resort in a beautiful setting.

Room Tip: Choose 3rd floor for less noise. Building #9 was great for us. It was close to main building and t...

We were passing through this area and stayed here as we are owners of this timeshare. It was our first time here, and although check in was VERY slow - the rest of our stay was great. The front desk gave us some recommendations on where to go in nearby Santa Rosa (which is lovely) and our room was comfortable.

Being a TA contributor, I do know enough to take in the tips that other reviewers post about lodging and restaurants. I called the Worldmark Windsor two weeks prior to my group of four staying at this timeshare to put in request for a specific building and floor. I was told to call the Wednesday before our Saturday check in. So I did. The bottom line of the phone call was that the floor (3rd for quiet) was more important than the building (5), but I did want to be away from the parking lot and on the side of the pool and grassy areas. I even asked the receptionist "which building would you prefer?" and she stated that Building 5 was a good one to be placed in.

Upon arrival at three pm, there weren't any rooms available, so we went over to Charlie's for a glass of wine and appetizers. (An easy walk from the WW). We made note that building 5 was under renovation and the first floor of the building was completely wrapped up. Funny how I wasn't told this four days prior to check in. We were called thirty minutes later to let us know Building 7 First Floor could be ours. I did not want to be on the first floor, so we opted to wait for another choice. We were then given Building 5 Third Floor which is what I had requested not knowing about the construction. We figured we would be out of the room for most of the day when construction was being done, and also that there weren't as many people residing in this building, so we gave it a chance (It is what I had asked for afterall).

We loved the location. The construction did take up a few of the parking spaces nearby, but there were plenty of them on the road to choose from when the dumpster was in the way (this is in no way a con--just making a note of parking). On Friday, the workers had moved up to the second floor, and if I were staying longer or it had not been a Friday but the start of my vacation, I would have put in for a move (it is loud at nine am!). But again, we left the room by ten am most mornings or earlier, so we were never disturbed by the sounds. The room itself was clean and efficiently stocked. The balcony was set away from the pool, and the room itself was quiet. Loved having the grill on the balcony (we ate in twice buying food from nearby Windsor Farmers Market). Wish they would supply the rooms with shampoos and conditioners, but WalMart and Safeway were an easy stop (I purposely didn't pack this since I knew I would buy large bottles once there). I didn't like having to do the towel transfer either (never had to do this with a timeshare before), but it was an easy enough walk to turn in towels when we need replacements. There was some laundry detergent available, but we did stop by the front desk for additional detergent and extra blankets. We had to ask that the twin beds be "bridged" into a queen size bed, and this was done immediately upon check in. I had requested this be done during my phone conversation the Wednesday prior, but again, it was easy enough for them to do once we checked in. The beds are firm (I slept very well), but the pillows are very soft. There is a walking path in Shiloh neighborhood nearby if you tire of walking on the treadmill or around the buildings.

The parking passes do indeed need to be picked up at the "other desk" where there are people trying to convince you to go to the breakfast. I warned my group, and I must say the incentives sounded great, but we didn't make the time for the breakfast. We were called a few times (never in the room to answer the phone), with only the last phone call being a bit "curt". The timeshare presenter told us "I have been trying to call you all day..." Well, we are busy enjoying our vacation, etc.
All in all, this was not a hassle to any of us. Just say no or don't answer the phone.

The WW is close to Windsor, Calistoga and Healdsburg. It is a longer drive to Napa. We managed to get to Windsor many nights for gelato, we had dinner in Windsor, we ate breakfast in Windsor, we made it to the Sunday Farmer's Market, we traveled to Napa and we drove 45 minutes to the Larkspur ferry to take to San Francisco. I would definitely recommend this place as a great trade in when wanting to tour wine country!

Approaching the WorldMark Wyndham, we thought the town of Windsor seemed quite boring, but the hotel looked promising. The lobby was okay, but had quite a lot of junk inside. The staff was nice enough, but the time share people were slightly irritating. We were ready to flop down on the bed and relax for a few minutes, but when we opened the door, we were greeted by a musty smell and then horrible gold bedspreads. The furniture was ugly and damp. We were hoping for some type of outlook, but all we could see from our patio was the parking lot. More of a two star hotel than three.

Room Tip: Rooms on the third floor have the best outlook.

We would never return, one of the worst experiences. Firstly they put us in a unit that had construction going on, noise, noise and more noise. Rude cleaning staff talking endlessly in another language, carts running continuously over the sidewalks, more noise. Not one attempt to come in and clean anything in 7 days. We should have asked for another unit, but we didn't.
Large gaps under doors allow bugs and such to enter at all times of the day. Single beds are like sleeping on the floor, terrible.
Staff could care less about concerns, no more woldmarks for us !
Daily fee for occupancy tax, yet nobody else in CA charged us, strange.
Poor area unless you want to golf or relax, which of course you can't do because of all the noise.
Not reccomended, not an attractive property.

We are so sorry that we failed to meet your expectations on several levels. WorldMark Windsor is a vacation ownership property and as such, it does differ from hotels or other lodging accommodations in that housekeeping is included only for stays of eight nights or more. We do of course have unlimited supplies available to our guests staying for any length of time. Occupancy tax is required in most every county in California; it may have been bundled in to your rate at other properties. It is our understanding that all of our guests are informed at time of reservation when we are undergoing renovations and we extend our most sincere apologies if that did not occur.

We regret that you did not enjoy your stay in the area. It is renowned for it’s wine tasting, redwoods and coastal areas, to name a few. We wish to thank you for taking the time to provide your feedback as it allows us to make any necessary adjustments to improve our guests stay with us.

Much preferred location staying in a smaller town, yet near Sonoma & Napa. Shared 2 bedroom with friends. Very comfortable setting and size of the suite. They honored my 2 requests: an upper floor unit and placing the twin beds together. Check in was busy, so had to wait a little longer than I would have liked, but they were very pleasant. Minor issue were the pillows, very flat and uncomfortable. Could be replaced. Would definitely stay here again on our next visit. Highly recommend Omelette Express for breakfast in nearby Windsor, as well as Johnny Garlic's for great burgers!

Room Tip: Call hotel directly for a request and they will most likely comply. Upper floor 2 bedroom units fac...

Thank you for your feedback. We are very pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. Our resort has very recenlly received a very large shipment of new pillows and we are in the process of distributing those to all of our units. We do hope to see you again soon!
